Axel's Food and Ice Cream — Restaurant in Merrimack

Leaving 2 stars because the ice cream was delicious, the portions are ginormous, and the staff was friendly…. But couldn’t stop myself from giving a warning to others about the food. My husband & I got 2 burgers and a small fry to share. The fries were soggy & bland.. but the biggest problem was the burgers. I unwrapped my burger and the paper wrapping was literally wet with grease. The burger practically fell apart in front of my eyes because everything on it was slippery. I had to go ask for another bun because the one I was given was inedible and disgustingly mushy. The 2nd bun they gave me was somehow not much better. They put way too butter on it in order to toast it, along with the grease from the burger. I managed to eat half of it, but only because I’m 7 months pregnant and needed food at the time.. We haven’t been to Axel’s in about 4 years and I remember the food being very good before, so we were pretty disappointed this time. The people at the benches around us all said the same about their food, and we watched as they ended up throwing their food into the woods behind them because they didn’t want to eat it. They told us it was under new ownership— feels like a shame now. Won’t be going back at this point. We only went tonight because I knew they had cherry vanilla ice cream, a clear pregnancy craving for me, but I’ll search for another place now....

We work hard for our money and every once in a while like to treat ourselves to an ice cream. This review is just the straight skinny on this order from Axel's. I was able to order on line and and the order was ready when they said it would be, so for that I gifted a star. The order number was 654103630 at 6:29 pm on April 6th. My M&M Artic blast with chocolate ice cream was a disaster. The cup had a crack and was leaking. The amount of M&M's in this artic blast left very little room for ice cream, as there wasn't much ice cream in it. The overdose of M&M candies made this artic blast inedible. I had to throw it away. There is certainly an amount of M&M's to ice cream ratio that makes everyone happy. This was not it. The other ice creams we bought were in cups with very little ice cream in the cup. Why have a dome lid if the ice cream doesn't even come up to the top of the container? They were medium sized ice cream cups looking like smalls. We're very disappointed with Axel's in Merrimack NH. None of this can be blamed on a pandemic that's for sure! Unless the pandemic took your eye site and you work at this location. Perhaps if this is the case then this hypothetical blind person needs to find employment elsewhere. I don't think we'll come back to Axel's for ice cream. There are other locations nearby that have overpriced ice cream but at...

Went there today and ordered two grilled cheeses. Instead, received two burnt on both sides frisbee looking things. When I went back and asked her what they were she said they don't have any bread they only have hamburger buns. I'm unclear as to why she didn't tell me that at the beginning or I would not have waited 10 minutes in the hot sun for it. I'm shocked the cook would serve burnt hamburger buns that were squished with some sort of brick. The girl at the front was very nice and very apologetic. I assured her it was not her fault but I was just frustrated by wasting time waiting and driving there. I'm only writing this because this is the second time we've been there for grilled cheeses at lunch time and they don't have any bread. The first time we were informed right away and declined the hamburger buns...
