Mexico's Grill Merritt Island — Restaurant in Merritt Island

Just went there for the first time, with high expectations for a restaurant with 4.8 star reviews. We found it didn’t measure up to all that. The restaurant was practically empty on a Saturday evening. There were food spills on the floor in 2-3 places. The waitress seemed very bored, but later became friendlier. The salsa with the chips was bland and watery. The cup my soda came in was slightly sticky on the outside. I had the Mexicos Burrito and my wife had a pulled pork quesadilla. Neither was very flavorful, and neither reminded us of similar dishes we have eaten in Mexico. Both were served with orange rice with a few chunks of frozen mixed vegetables stirred in. The rice was dry and bland. The cheese drizzled over my burrito seemed to have a mild jalapeño flavor, but it was barely noticeable. My god...where to begin? First, this place is super clean! The food is authentic and delicious! Their barbacoa is THE BEST!! You know how rice and beans are normally a 'filler' extra? Not here! There r&b are worthy on their own!! Not even kidding! I wish their chimichanga was fried until super crisp but still it was delicious...the barbacoa and cheeses in it were delicious. Their chips are the best and made/fried made on site! The owner is an awesome man and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and VERY GORGEOUS! Wonderful new Mexican place!!! Went here with family for dinner and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is great. Love the decor. The chairs are awesome!

The service was fantastic. Everyone was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.

The food was very good. The queso dip is REALLY Good!! The Guac was amazing. Very fresh and delicious. This place should do great over the years as long as it keeps the same level of service and the quality of the food remains the same.
