It’s a warm and inviting experience. I love my liver and onions. I always sit at the counter. Service was always good. This particular day I came with my daughter. We set at first booth at window. This day we sat there because our dog’s was in the car. I left the windows down it was cool morning. So I asked can I let the blinds up. She was like I have to ask the people next to you. So she took her time. So I asked them they didn’t mind. So she go say the people further down. She didn’t so asked them. I let the blinds a little so I can view my dogs. My daughter order and large orange juice. She gave her small and charged is for a large. Now remember I frequent here. So I know what a large looks like. She’s not gonna to say she didn’t know. Because I seen her on many occasions. This last time I ordered out. Because I’m sick to my stomach knowing she served our food. Feeling like she done something after the chef. It has scarred me because. I experience racism probably once a year. I felt her nasty presence from the start. I should have left. I just wanted to show my daughter this place. Another waitress apologized and other waitresses been great. If the purpose was to get me to go somewhere else. Definitely failed . I will just order out. This is no reflection on the business and other staff’s. It’s a really great place. My elderly neighbors introduced me. Since moving to Florida. This is a place where we go after chemotherapy if we feeling well afterwards. Just the other day. I ordered them steak sandwiches. Because we don’t have the energy to cook. We don’t all have...
Read moreThis is my second time at this wonderful establishment. It is truly a well-kept secret of the community. The staff is super friendly, and know their menu better than most other establishments. Our server, Kaissy, was very attentive even during the rush hours of this Sunday morning. Never letting a cup go empty without refill.
Their food is AMAZING, bacon is crisp and perfectly cooked, eggs made specifically to your liking without issue, and their HomeMade Cinnamon Rolls are a mouthwatering masterpiece like no other.
The only Con I could find in this sea of PROs was that the coffee was really bold and strong compared to other places, yet not so bad that it was undrinkable. A bit of cream and sugar fixed the issue!
With the amazing taste you'd expect a pretty pricetag to follow but to my surprise, all of their meals cost less than $10; like wow!! That Value is impeccable!
I haven't tried their Lunch options on their brunch menu, but I'm sure those chefs perfect the lunch options just as well as these delicious breakfast options. I'll give it a go next visit and review it as well!
To conclude, Island Gecko is by far the 10/10 in Value, Quality, and Staff Attentiveness and Friendliness. We have decided to come here every week on Sundays and maybe some weekdays as a regular breakfast location for myself, My friends, and my husband. They have more than proven their worth to my family and I'm sure they will for...
Read moreThis has been one of my favorite 'dives' on the Island as long as it's been open for business. Located inside a strip mall, don't let that dissuade you for popping in and trying some of the best offerings of all your favorite American comfort foods cooked & served to perfection by the cooks & friendly, expeditious servers , who will usually remember your order after 2 or 3 visits. They serve breakfast & lunch ,but closed for dinner. The coffee is good and is always hot & fresh ,as they usually have someone separately taking your drink order just as you seat yourself and refilling it throughout the meal. A lot of Islanders have their own personal favorites ,some of which are classics, and ,some of which are 'Gecko Originals', like , my favorite, the ' mess ' for breakfast. With the option to customize your meals based on your preferences and choices of bread with your meal, plus all the forementioned 'pluses' , there is really no reason to have breakfast or lunch at those nationally known overpriced franchises. And, don't forget to tip...
