Gabby’s Sports Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Mesa

Not a family friendly place, service is usually hit or miss, but they have always had amazing wings, which my wife and I would often order for takeout. Unfortunately, they have just informed us they will no longer take phone orders which is a shame, its basically the only way we could still support this business. It is very difficult to justify waiting in person 40 minutes for a Togo order especially when I have young kids at home. Edited to a 1 star as the owner clearly is not concerned about retaining business. They ask why would I post this before asking if they changed their takeout policy... what do you think the phone call was? Your bartender literally told me you changed your policy...are you saying your bartender was wrong shouldnt have said that? Cause if so and she is costing you money and business now, that's a conversation you need to have with her and instead should be apologizing to me for the misinformation. I support a business by going there, by bringing friends there and spending my money there. One of the ways to do that with a restaurant is to order food togo... crazy concept that by refusing a takeout order you are actually making the decision for me to not support you. Not the other way around. As to the random rambling about reviewing a business because I didn't check their hours... now you are just proving you have no foundation and are resorting to whataboutism, we have gone to gabbys in person and for takeout for easily 5 years, we called around 6pm on a Sunday and based on your busy times on google that is during one of the slowest parts of the day... your whole last sentence shows how out of touch you are with running a business as you are now just making up irrelevant topics to vent about rather than address and resolve the reason for...

My first impression of this bar was that it would be a good hometown bar for football sundays. The bar is small and homey and has plenty of televisions around for everyone to watch the game of their choosing. As soon as I ordered my first drink I knew my experience was going to be lack luster. It took forever for them to notice me and when they did I asked for an Irish coffee. They brought out an iced coffee with no alcohol. I finished it knowing she was probably just starting her day and made a simple mistake. I then ordered a Miller lite which she then gave me a Miller high life. She said nothing to me while she delivered my drinks. I sat with a menu in hand for over 30 minutes with no one even approaching me. I stood for another 5 before deciding to just close out and go home.

Social distancing isn’t a thing in this bar, people were without masks and reorganizing chairs with no consideration for the global pandemic.

There were a ton of people wanting a certain game on the tv which the refused to put on. Even though seven of the TVs had the same game on. "First come first serve," is their motto for televisions, but common sense would have pushed them to accompany everyone.

The potential for this bar is incredible which is why I am so disappointed. If I could give this bar a year book superlative it would be for most likely to appear on bar rescue. The bartender/staff is great but the dj is rude and ornery not only did he show up late for karaoke @10pm I had been at the bar since 8 waiting when I put a song in he proceeded to play back ground music for 30 mins his excuse he's calibrating the system what he doesn't know is I'm a singer and I've also used karaoke systems and I know that to truly test the system out you can sing one song after everything is set up to see how everything sounds then he proceeded to read me a riot act about how to sing into the mic and to not yell into the mic and I told him I've been here before you probably don't remember me but I know that when you project you pull the mic away low and behold I was there for 15 more minutes then I finally got to sing my song nobody else put any music in the system one girl I convinced her to sing a song and she sang her song and left so I'm thinking I just put another song in and I'll be able to sing immediately after her I was very wrong dude continue to play background music 10 mins that's 3 songs apx now I've spent money here and I'm a patron and I have a good voice it's not like I'm tone deaf I told the bouncer that I'm leaving and that he needs to tell the owner that this dude is driving people away because he's too worried about doing what he wants to do and not creating an ambiance for people to...
