Had a weird, awkward experience there. The food was delicious. Our waiter was very good, but I'm marking down, for the "bizarre". I'm 63, took my 2 nieces to dinner. Wonderful food and appetizers, we loved the menu. I ordered a cocktail and my 22 year old niece ordered one as well. She was carded, of course. Her 19 year old sister made a point of ordering a NA/zero proof mocktail. Our poor waiter came back a few minutes later to say how sorry he was but that he had to check her ID to make sure she was over 16. He apologized profusely and said it was a new policy and he wasn't sure why. She proved she was 19. We laughed a little and as a lawyer, a former DA, I thought that maybe it was just a liability issue where a child might have been accidentally served an alcoholic beverage. (I guess better to give a 16-year-old an alcoholic beverage accidentally, than a 7 year old? Who knows?) But, it didn't end there.
He came back a few minutes later apologizing again, that the policy had changed "even more" and that she had to be at least 20 yrs old to order a zero proof mocktail. I'm really stretching to try to figure out just what they were trying to accomplish. Worse? I checked my bill today (I paid using an app last night) and see I was charged for a $10 strawberry lemonade the waiter brought her (assuming it was the mocktail).
Whoever manages this place needs to have a talk with their legal counsel about the purpose, or point, of even offering mocktails that are advertised as zero proof. If they are crafting them using bitters, bitters normally have a high alcohol content, then they should not be selling them as "0 proof" in case say for instance, an alcoholic in sobriety, decides to give one a try. Like I said, I'm stretching to try to understand what their policy was designed to accomplish and the arbitrary and changeable age cut-off was all about - 16? 19? 20? Absolutely ridiculous. I will think twice before I go back. Everyone involved, including the waiter was...
Read moreWe love RW&B, everything has always been close to five stars until tonight! We love to dine in and occasionally we'll have an 8 to a 10 top in our group, we also love to pic up a pizza on occasions. Tonight there were four of us and the other couple had never been before, we've talked about going for a long time so tonight was the night. All of our food was great, it wasn't that at all, it was our server with an "I DON'T WANT TO BE HERE, I DON'T WANT TO WORK ATTITUDE"! I've been in the business all my life, I don't get upset to the point of going public with a server that's "PROBABLY HAVING A BAD NIGHT", until tonight! We care, but we don't care if it's a hassle to take our drink order, we care, but we don't care if we're not ordering fast enough for you, we care, but we don't care that you have a sour attitude, we care, but we don't care that you really couldn't be bothered to give us good service. It was obvious our server didn't want to work tonight! When our service has gotten me to the point that I get my calculator out and figure exactly 15% of meal before tax to tip what used to be the proper amount, it takes some attitude to get me to this place! We always tip 20-25% and would have been happy to do that tonight if our experience would have been somewhat pleasant, thank the lord the company was priceless! Thank you server for the refill of my husband's soda after I carried the empty glass up to the window, asked for a refill and sat the empty in a highchair! If this all happened because you were busy, that's a great problem to have, but to have this happen when you are not busy, is not a good problem to...
Read moreWe’ve been wanting to go here for a long time. Finally now that the snowbirds are gone, we figured it’d be a good time to try to get in because it’s usually busy. I believe happy hour is from 2 to 6 and the lunch menu stops at 4 so we thought a good time to go would be Fri around 2 to take advantage of the happy hour and lunch menu. we started with cocktails and happy hour mozzarella sticks. I’ve never had better mozzarella sticks. I believe there were six or eight, which was pretty generous for $10. I had the shrimp RWB And a side salad with ranch, my husband had the New York strip with baked potato and side salad. I’ve never had a crème brûlée before but it’s my Mother’s favorite dessert and I heard RWB’s is the best so I ordered it to go. Omg! It was delicious! We go to many restaurants and I’m hear to tell you this food measures up to any upscale restaurant I’ve been to. The shrimp dish was cooked perfectly and trust me not a lot of restaurants can get shrimp right and there was enough to feed 3 people. I had to take more than half of it home and have it the next day. My husband said that they cooked his steak to perfection, which doesn’t always happen for him. And the service was impeccable our server Danielle helped us by recommending dishes and cocktails. She was so kind and professional and attentive.. I did order the Arizona sunset cocktail, but apparently I didn’t know what Hornitos was and I can’t drink tequila. She happily exchanged it for something else. I would highly recommend this restaurant and can’t...
