I didn't get to try them because of their hours adjustment. Unfortunately, you can't know this until you drive all the way up here. Call before coming to see if they're open. Thanks, 2020 đ - you've killed people's desire to work and businesses can't operate. I'll update review if I ever get to go in. I've read nothing but great things here.
Response to owner: I only mentioned 2020 because most businesses were not having staff shortages and reduced hours as standard operating procedure prior to 2020, and as a concession to how hard things have been, particularly on small business owners. It was an effort at kindness toward your business. The sign I posted a picture of did not indicate this was a temporary situation. The hours seemed short everyday compared to what is posted on Google and at your website. My post was only meant to inform others of this change that seems indefinite. Unfortunately, I can't post information without putting a star review, which I would have preferred to do. As I mentioned, the review had nothing to do with the quality of your business since I could not speak to that. However, it is not my intention to hurt your business in any way; only to inform fellow consumers of an error in the reported open hours. 5 stars for caring about your customers. Now, can you keep your hours updated somewhere online so that we can know when you're experiencing...
Read moreI recently visited a restaurant that left much to be desired. The Red, White, and Brew cold brew tasted more like a chocolate powdered drink mix, with no detectable coffee flavor. The raspberry scone was equally underwhelming, having a playdough-like taste and a cake-like texture that missed the mark on what a scone should be. Additionally, the absence of high chairs made dining with a family particularly challenging. To top it off, the patrons were unwelcoming and snobby, and several diners occupied multiple tables unnecessarily, which only added to the overall frustration. It was a thoroughly disappointing experience.
Despite it being a busy time for coffee shops, this place was surprisingly empty. Inside, there were several families, which directly contradicts the owner's claim that 99% of his patrons are adults.
The owner's approach to customer feedback was particularly disappointing. Instead of acknowledging and addressing the concerns raised in negative reviews, he seemed more interested in arguing and deflecting responsibility. This defensive attitude not only failed to resolve issues but also alienated potential return customers.
Overall, the service and atmosphere did not make up for the owner's poor handling of feedback. Based on this experience, I won't be...
Read moreThe Hava Java at Power Rd/McDowell Rd is no ordinary coffee shop. Yes, there you can avail yourselves of a great cup of java and a variety of tasteful menu items, but the theme that proves out again and again to all that go there with any regularity is acceptance. Tim and Barb and the staff have created a welcoming environment for all whom enter their establishment. I put that to the test as I plied away almost daily at my fiction novel while firmly ensconced in a corner booth, Mouthing words to find the most suitable dialogue for my characters. Seemingly appearing as a wannabe J.K. Rowling. No judgement was ever evident towards this striving and quirky novelist. In fact a good number of regulars were aware of my undertaking and gave encouragement. It was do or die for me there. I could not maintain the needed focus at home nor in a library . Hava Java provided the perfect mixture of the subdued conversations of customers seated at nearby booths while still enabling me to enclose myself in literary solitude . As a result, I was able to complete my 40 chapter, 500 page, 100,000 word fantasy novel. I could not have done this without them. I am now engaged in the submission process. Guess where I will begin writing the...
