My family and I have been coming to sunny side for a little over 5 years, we have brought friends and family over and enjoy many a Sunday morning here; However on April 7 2024. we had a rather disturbing experience, my teenage son ordered a strawberry fusion smoothie, he’s allergic to nuts and all the ingredients looked safe. The smoothie arrived first and after a few minutes, as the food was brought he mentioned his tongue was feeling funny, I looked at him and his lower lip was fully swollen and had hives on it, he complained of chest pain as well. we had barely received our food but due to the closeness of the hives to his throat we had to leave immediately, I told my husband to take him to the car while I payed for the bill. I approached the older asian lady at the front, told her my kid was having an emergency, that he had an allergic reaction and that I needed to pay; She asked which table were we seating, went in the computer, while she looked for our bill I asked her if the particular smoothie had any nuts, she said no, at this point I believe my child’s epi pen was in my hands, what happened next was disappointed to say the least, she went and called the waitress (Serenity) As she was busy with the next table down it took her a couple of minutes to come up, this woman wanted to make sure that Everything we ordered was input in the computer and that we were charged for it; didn’t really matter that we were having a life threatening situation or that we didn’t touch the food. Finally they charged my card and I was able to leave and rush my son to the nearest Emergency room where due to the severity of his condition was admitted immediately This was a situation that was created by your restaurant, we had just come to have breakfast after mass, I assumed due to cross contamination. I Sent them an email, never heard back. What assumption? We came straight from mass, no food or drink is served, However minutes after consuming your smoothie he went into anaphylactic shock. e-mail was sent on April 13, 2024 at 4:18pm Interesting you regret “my assumption “ more than the behavior of the Asian woman on an emergency situation I hope you reflect on the reply you have given. I don’t know who you are but I see the lack of empathy and values runs high on this place

Would NOT SUGGEST! Biggest let down. Drink prices were decent and consistent. Was hopeful they had a ton of options, for $15 the corned beef hash was such a small serving, the poached eggs were under cooked it was basically a dip in hot water above raw, I felt uncomfortable eating it. The home potatoes were hard, extra crispy and bland. My friends “healthy”Benedict left much to be desired as well and didn’t mention it’d have a giant biscuit underneath in the description . We ordered a kids chicken tenders and fries and it was so over cooked it looked like it was recooked from the day before he wouldn’t even eat it, and what kid doesn’t even chicken tenders and fries. Also beware the up-charge for a kids orange juice vs anything else is $2.50 ( to which wasn’t clarified) Our waiter was riding the struggle bus, he couldn’t get our split check right for the life of him and it was only 2 adult meals, two kids meals And 2 drinks. seemed like he was over the day, which we get it’s a Sunday and it was almost noon and it had been busy. But the over all experience was very much unenjoyable. For all the other options so close we were bummed to be so let down. I wouldn’t suggest this location for brunch, if your going to pay may as well get better service and better food elsewhere. I’d give half a star if I could. Photo is of the corned beef Hash, under poached eggs over home potatoes. Literally felt like eating raw egg.

I have been here a few times and I have enjoyed every single experience and meal. Today was a different story. The food was a tad under seasoned for one and not at all what I expect, but my biggest concern is what was playing on the tv. I’m aware it is Sunday but I don’t believe that a business should be airing religious rhetoric for their customers to view. Joel Osteen was not something I expected to be on the tv while eating my food. I asked if they could possibly change the channel, maybe football? There were several customers in their with sporting attire on so I’m sure it would have been well received. However, I must have had three heads on because when I asked the hostess to change the channel she looked me up and down and said, “I’ll ask!”w The tone, eye contact and body language quickly assured me that she would do nothing of the sort. And she did not! If I wanted to have a religious moment and/or conversation I would actively seek out a local church or group. But not while I’m enjoying a nice breakfast while holiday shopping. I’m not sure if the food is enough to bring me back here anymore. So bummed out. They don’t appear to be openly religious because the music playing in the background is 80s alternative! The two simply don’t t mix. Which is it?

We ordered takeout yesterday, and loved everything we ordered. They have an impressive menu, encompassing breakfast and lunch only, ranging from gluten free options to indulgent treats to low fat fare to enormous cheeseburgers - there is literally one thing for everyone, no matter what you’re craving. I had the Banana Nutella Crepes and a Black coffee and my Mom had the PCH Benedict with fruit, the Crab Cake Benedict with homefries, a chai tea latte. We both loved everything! The crepes were light and fluffy, were filled with a banana ‘custard’ that had freshly mashed bananas, with sliced bananas and Nutella on top. To. Die. For. That custard inside was really, really good. I will be going back for sure, and i know I will always want that custard. So good. The bananas were perfectly ripe (not at all hard or green) and none of them (on top of the crepes or within the custard) were brown or turning brown (from the exposure to the air after being cut) - THAT is how incredibly fresh everything made here is. The coffee was fresh, hot, and delicious - it was strong but not bitter. It was good. My Mom loved the two eggs Benedict dishes - the crab cake had a slight spice to it and lots of flavor, and the PCH was light, fresh and delicious. They were very generous with the hollandaise sauce which was light, buttery, and fresh; and the eggs were perfectly poached adding that yummy drizzle of egg yolk to each dish. The side of fruit she had consisted of fresh cut pineapple, cantaloupe, and honeydew melon which were all at a good ripeness - not too hard, not too soft, not too sweet, and not lacking sweetness. As for the takeout experience, Jen answered the phone and took our order. I could hear it was busy, but she was friendly and kind, and took the time to answer all of our menu questions. Our order was prepared quickly, was completely correct and was cooked properly. We were given plastic ware, napkins, and ketchup in our to-go bags. It was truly a great experience through and through. If you’re looking for really tasty food that is extremely fresh, you will love Sunnyside. The friendly staff and small town feel coupled with the excellent food makes Sunnyside a place you will want to experience...

Beware: do not order food on their business website. We ordered food on 12/29 on their business website at 10:09 for pick-up 30 minutes later. I showed up at 10:30 and there was a line out the door for patrons to be seated. It wasn't particularly busy, just the hostess is over worked and running around constantly. By the time I am able to ask her about an order for pick-up, she says she doesn't have my order. I told her I did not order on GrubHub or UberEats and that we ordered directly from their website. She indicated that the order has not been sent to the kitchen yet because she has to manually do that and she hasn't done it yet because she's overworked. So, she places the order and asks me to return in 15 minutes to pick up my food. I return in 30 minutes to give them enough time and the food still isn't ready. The hostess continues to run around the restaurant with 5 juices to make and tables to bus and doesn't pay any attention to updating me on what's going on (I still haven't paid yet). Doesn't give me a status on my food or anything, just acknowledges that I am here to pick up the order as discussed 30 minutes prior. I catch her running by and ask about paying and she said I already paid and I corrected her that I didn't. Then she proceeds to tell me that the biscuits and gravy meal comes with eggs and that we didn't put in our order correctly how we wanted them cooked (there was no option for this) and then says that biscuits and gravy doesn't come with a side of fruit (online it does). I pay after this conversation and confusion for two sides of fruit. Five minutes later she brings me my food and I leave, get home and find a single side of fruit that is tiny. She decided eggs over medium is what we were going to have. My other order of an egg white omelette tastes like sausage and bacon. Worst experience at a restaurant in a longtime and the demeanor and professionalism is completely lacking. Better to...
