Swig — Restaurant in Mesa

I don’t mean to sound like a Karen but this is the worst Swig location in Arizona based off the employees attitudes only. The drinks are always great but there has been 2 instances where the employees are straight up rude. They are also constantly losing internet and I know that isn’t their fault but it’s very inconvenient after waiting in a long line. And they don’t even take cash if they lose internet. If doctors offices can still run with the internet down I’m sure a soda shop can figure something out. There was a time before internet was a thing and business still operated. 1st time - we are patiently waiting in the line that’s always long. The person who takes the orders switches out with another girl and she straight up skips our car and takes everyone else’s order. My boyfriend is driving and waving to her trying to let her know we never got our order taken. He does a little honk as soon as she gets to the door and she comes and takes the order. Then we get up the drive thru and another girl says “I don’t appreciate you honking at my employees” and he said “I don’t appreciate her skipping us.” Ok not a big deal. This isn’t the end of the world maybe we shouldn’t have honked but in our eyes we needed to get her attention somehow. It wasn’t an obnoxious long honk it was a little beep. But this isn’t what made me write this review. 2nd time - Today I come an hour and a half after they open. The back door is open but no one comes out to take an order. I get up to the drive thru and can see a girl staring at me through the drive thru window. I look at her. She looks at me and doesn’t open it or do anything. I’m sorry but the least you can do is let the 3 people in line know you aren’t taking orders or put up a sign so we aren’t just sitting there. I call them to check if they are open and of course no one answers. I guess business hours are optional? I don’t normally write bad reviews but this...

I’ve been coming here every Sunday for almost 6 months now. Normally the service is friendly and helpful. Today, I went inside instead of the drive thru. I’m not sure if the girls inside were in a bad mood or short staffed. But it was not friendly like usual. While ordering the girl seemed annoyed and kept asking me to repeat everything. I never mind doing so because I had one of my kiddos with me and they can be quite distracting to say the least. But when it came time to wait I watched as they cleared the drive thru of people at least 2x. I waited well over 20 minutes and was plenty patient until they started putting out drinks for the people who ordered after me inside. I ordered a drink and pretzel bites and they had 4 people with several drinks and several orders of pretzel bites. I asked the girl if they knew how much longer for my drink and she seemed annoyed but “ politely” said I’m not sure. I waited about 2-3 more minutes when another girl asked what drink I had and finally got my drink ready. I understand it gets busy as I’ve worked in the food industry as a teen. But regardless of how busy or the kind of day you are having, kindness goes along way and I felt none of that today to say the least. Not to mention if I ordered before someone and I’m being served well after them, it’s a little weird to me. Outside of all that, the drinks are pretty good. The selection is a myriad of combinations for which is left to the imagination. It is worthy of a 5 star joint. The decor is a bit hard but still worth a 4 star review. The staff on the other hand were very polarizing to of that. They took their sweet time to attend the front. Once they did, they went to make drinks for the drive thru and went on with conversation amongst each other. My group and I just standing in the lounge are waiting for our drinks seeing nothing was done. We check up because it was getting late and they were oblivious to the fact we hadn't gotten our drinks yet. It's not the worst thing in the world to just might've slipped up on something like that, but the attitude they approached the situation with was demoralizing to ever go back to this location.
