Oh man, where to begin…. my husband and I were looking for somewhere to watch the hockey game close to home… came in and it took about 5 minutes for someone to come over. Looked like the two servers were debating which one would take us. Finally after coming over he drops menus and gives us a few minutes. Seems perfectly nice and greeted us normally… when he comes back he asks if I know what I want and I look and take a one second pause and he starts over the specials and looks over to my husband and tells him the $3 well special could be any kind of cocktail like rum and coke, vodka and sprite etc… he then tells him without skipping a beat for me to have the chance to order my drink “I’m sure you can order for her if she doesn’t know how”……. The audacity. He then starts laughing and tells us how he made this joke with another couple and the girl got upset and “all he could think was he just lost his tip”. Funny thing about it… I’m a sommelier and I work in the industry and my husband is in finance so it would be quite the other way around, but I was literally shocked that he thought the joke was appropriate. So he finally “allows” me to speak to order a beer and fast forward he brings the can and says he will be right back with a glass. The can was absolutely disgusting. It looked like it had been at the bottom of a cooler and liquids had spilled on it. I wanted to wipe off the top before opening it. He picks up the can and I tell him no that’s OK I will handle it… to which he responds… verbatim “I will pour it. I’m trying to work for my tip”. After we order, I asked him for napkins and silverware, and he brings us one and says that they were out of silverware and he’ll bring another one in a little bit. The restaurant was not even full or even half…. What do you mean you don’t have silverware? After all of this, we still get yet another tip joke. I served in an Irish pub for years while in college. I know the servers work for tips…. But common sense should be known not to continuously mention it to a table. It’s incredibly uncomfortable especially after he made the joke about my husband ordering for me and I told him I worked in the industry. And just to top it off, we ordered a wrap and a sampler and I’m not sure if the oil was old or if it had been made a few hours beforehand and it was reheated but everything was incredibly burnt and just not good at all. I get it restaurants have bad nights sometimes, but a bad experience with the waiter and his terrible jokes on top of almost inedible food…… not somewhere I would probably ever try again. I doubt that was only the second time he made that joke, but maybe since another female didn’t really think it was funny, he may retire it off...
Read moreI have been to plenty of boomer jacks over my time (they were called lonestar wings back in the day). From Denton, Dallas, and now Mesquite. The location looks good after they renovated, but their service was slacking. Occupancy sign at the door says 80 people but there was definitely over 100 people when my friend and I dined in (Friday night). This being said, the waiters were cut so thin they couldn’t handle all their tables and the large parties. It took us five minutes to find a table since the person at the front register told us to look for one ourselves. After we found a table we had to wait for someone to come and clean it which took another five minutes. Then finally our server came around and we were able to order our drinks, then we ordered an appetizer which took 45 minutes to come out. Same thing happend with our entrees. A very long wait. My friend’s ranch never came out and our server never brought us the forks I had requested. And about the food, well the taste is the same as the rest of boomer jacks I’ve been to, except they changed the way they serve their boneless wings. Apparently you can’t get a combo anymore and have to order everything separately (same goes with bone-in). Now they serve their boneless wings by weight, either half or one pound but you can only get one flavor with half a pound. The boneless wings shouldn’t be called wings anymore, popcorn chicken is a more appropriate name. And lastly, they were so frugal with the ranch. My container was only half way filled and so was our vanilla pudding to-go container. Two stars for this location, we won’t come back to dine in. We’re sticking to the casa...
Read moreAn update to my last review. I received a response from the owner asking me to reach out I gave him my information and never heard from him. I also sent a email and was never responded to. I have copied the email to this review and I can truly now see why the service is the way it is in his establishments.
Hello Bart. My name is Audrey. Recently I reviewed your restaurant and gave a 1 star review due to picking up 2 DoorDash orders and no one greeted me upon arriving to your establishment. I have responded to your request and have given you my information as requested and have not heard from you. Y esterday while dashing, I was given another order who name came up as Boomerjacks and I was totally unaware that it was District 21 Sports Kitchen. I am new to the area and I have never been to Boomjacks or District 21 and to be quite frank, I don't believe I will ever want to. I experience the same encounter as before and it is really sad how poor the customer service is in your establishment. As I stood there waiting on food, I saw the servers and bar tenders look at me and turn the other way. No one acknowledge me or stated we will be right with you! Also when I was addressed it wasn't how are you, how can I help you? I was asked who are you picking up once again. My question is what if I was there to dine in? I have been in the customer service industry for over 10 years, I 've worked at multiple restaurants and I have never been this cold or rude to any customers walking into the establishment where I work. I will be doing another review and if I was giving the option to give zero stars I would. I pray the customer service gets...
