Daqs 2 Geaux — Restaurant in Mesquite

What you say Daqs ?! Yeah I got you. After searching for a new daiquiri place to try I finally decided to stop by based upon previous reviews. Most places are hit or miss but once you find a good one you have to share it! I was greeted immediately actually before I even walked in by the owner if I’m not mistaken. They asked what type of drink I was looking for & gave a run down of their food menu. I only had one sample but that was all I needed, she hit it on the head.

Cobb Salad: I ordered it minus black olives & croutons (not braces friendly lol) but with avocado added. Yum yum! It served its purpose for dinner & lunch the next day. A small just wouldn’t have done me justice.

Oowee Daiquiri: Oowee is right! It was sweet with just the right amount of liquor granted the size I ordered included an extra shot. I intended on just drinking half of it & saving the rest for the next day. Guess what? I drank it all that evening - couldn’t put it down.

I’ve tried majority of the daq spots around DFW & I can say Daqs 2 Geaux is in the top 5 of my list. Thankfully it’s not far from home so I will definitely be back to try some of their other flavors. Their customer service was amazing & they made sure to keep in mind me being allergic to pineapple when a sample was given & a free shot was selected for being a new customer. Ordered the jerk chicken tacos it was great but if you're coming from anywhere other than mesquite p, then it’s like playing Russian roulette you may travel far only to get there and be told the hours are wrong on the door ….but it’s not just the the hours(bc they were/are inconsistent on the website too) the phone number doesn’t work also so therefore you get no customer service in case you don’t know the open hours. I also ordered 5 tacos through doordash only to have three in the box but there was no way to make sure because once again the phone number that doesn’t work, and I then placed a schedule order to arrive by 6:00pm mind you they are closed mon-wed so you would think all the ingredients would be purchased for roll out for Thursday, so basically I waited nearly all day for them to open at 5pm on Thursday only to be told they don’t have the ingredients for the jerk tacos….this to me takes out all the experience of the food itself if the establishment can’t fix simple scheduled hours and open a phone line for communication so the food itself gets 5 stars but as for as communication and customer service...

Literally just left. And throwing $51 in the trash. The first young lady who took our order was nothin but amazing. Told us 20 minutes before the order would be ready. We came back in 30 and the order was only half complete. Our Philly cheese steaks were ready and looked amazing and we couldn’t wait to get home to enjoy. But they told us 5 minutes before the jerk tacos would be ready. 15 minutes later, I checked again, and still not ready. So of course, I asked how much longer because now our sandwiches are getting cold. I take a look in the kitchen because the swinging door has a window. I could see the cook is in the back, licking her fingers and preparing our tacos. I was upset, disgusted and appalled because I couldn’t believe it. Only reason I didn’t ask for a refund, is because I know the owner is a small black business and every cent matters. So I decided to take my food and throw it right in the garbage.
