My wife and I were big fans of Belvedere when they opened but after several poor experiences in a row (poor service, food quality, out of menu choices, etc) we decided we would not be returning. Thus, we were less than enthused when we recevied a gift card to the Padre over the holidays. However, my wife and I had a "date" night arranged so we decided to use the gift card (free is free) and go back to the Belvedere. Wow. Service was great, knowledge of menu was strong, and we weren't told "sorry, we are out of that" one time. We started out with a Padre salad and Pork Bellly appetizer which were both very good. The Pork Belly "Picnic" was an inspired mix of sweet and savory that enhanced rather than overpowered, the pork belly. I had the ribeye which was seasoned to perfection and while slightly undercooked, was fabulous. My wife ordered the braised short rib which she devoured. The only negative was that it was so very small it was not sufficient to satisfy even a petite female. Sides were very good as well (brussel sprouts with bacon, wild mushrooms and grilled broccoli rabe with cauliflower). My wife has a dairy allergy and the wait staff and chefs went out of there way to make sure they eliminated the dairy from her plate without sacrificing flavor. They even created a special desert for her while I ordered the cheese plate which was good but nothing out of the ordinary as far as selections. The wine selection is limited (especially by the glass) and the first glass they brought my wife was obviously from a bottle that had been opened for at least a few days. However there was no pushback when we asked them to open a new bottle for us (which they did at table side). Overall a great experience. Based upon our history we don't know what to expect when we return but at least now we will return although based upon our prior history, they will be on a short leash as far as...

On a Sunday, April 9th I took a guest from out of town for a gyro. Samuel was "wonderful" the gyro meat was tender, hot and seasoned well (not salty) and the bread was browned, hot and not hard. DELICIOUS, bite for bite. I even purchased one to take home to my niece who travels a great deal and later she wanted more. Three days later I took my other sister. My sister enjoyed her gyro, pictures on the wall and we reminisced about our mother and the foods she use to cook us at home. My taste buds, ,, were not happy ,,on the visit, they were missing something,,, I tried to complete the meal 'But' something was not right,,,what was it? I noticed my french fries on top were hot and long , the french fries on the bottom they were short, hard and warm. The meat was not hot and tender as it was on my first visit and it was salty. I didn't want to ruin my sister's enjoyment so I never said a word about my disappointment to Samuel or the other staff. Because my first experience was so wonderful, I might take others there in the future. But request everything to be fresh for me it I should order a gyro.

I really think this place is better than any other place I've been for a gyro. My first experience a true "5" star. Second visit a hard, salty, warm "3". (sorry, Samuel but you...

My partner and I were looking for some Mediterranean style food in Mesquite. We usually travel to a few places in Plano which is quite a drive for us just for dinner. But, we saw Yia Yia House of Gyros in Mesquite and decided to give them a try. Let's just say it was the best decision ever! Y'all, the food was very authentic and definitely fills you up and is fresh. Believe me when they say things are cooked fresh they mean it! The flavors were just so awesome the excellent customer service from the owner as well as the hostess Miss Ariana... and the follow up during the meal was awesome. I felt like they were my friends and I was over at their house. The hospitality was warm and friendly. I figured at 7:45 p.m. when we went that things would die down and they would be getting ready to close at 9, but, many calls came in for orders and many people came in for carryout or dine-in. We are so grateful to have found this Greek gem in the heart of Mesquite! Definitely this will be our main restaurant to go to. The Greek Donuts were awesome. The tzatziki and pita appetizer was so delicious. We both had the gyro platter which was so fresh fragrant and tasty! Please stop by and give them a try. They take call in orders, they participate in ubereats, and you can do dine-in...

Hands down one of the best mediterranean spots I've ever tried. Arguably one of the, if not the, top mediterranean spot in DFW. Found this spot in a TastingTable article about where the best gyro is in all 50 states. The Texas spot was this restaurant! The interior is a charming Greek cafe. Everything tasted amazing. The flavors really come out in each dish. Legit, their hummus (it's orange) is the best hummus I have tried so far in my life (and I have had a metric ton of hummus trust me). They also make the best dolmas I have ever had. Usually, I never have bad dolmas (except for a few spots). Here, the dolmas are so perfect. I love them. How is the gyro here? Amazing. It may be the best one I have tried. The lamb and beef were cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. I was picking bits of lamb and beef out of my gyro just to savor the deliciousness! The french fries the gyro comes with may be the best french fries I have tried at a restaurant. They were that good. Also had really good loukoumades here, which are Greek donuts! Seriously try this spot if you haven't! This was only my first time going, but I will return.

Best place for gyros hands down! My husband is always personally conflicted when we go here, he wants to say this place is better than the gyro shop back home but he wants to stay loyal to his hometown at the same time. 😂 The gyros are generously stuffed with meat with just the right amount of tzatziki and two fries on top, it all of course tastes delicious but I'm happy most of all with the generous gyro meat portions. If it isn't the amazing gyros it is those knockout steak fries, I think they are the best fries in DFW, wonderfully crispy on the outside, nice and soft on the inside, perfectly seasoned, something I've said about fries at a lot of other places but this place somehow still manages to do it slightly better. Other places I will think: "These are some good fries", Yia Yia's has me thinking: "Dang, what a treat!" They also give you free loukoumades (honey dough balls) that are a perfect way to top your meal off, you'll leave feeling so satisfied.

First off the must try when u go here is the lamb chops and the gyro! The lamb chops are tender and very flavorful! I love the fire cooked taste. The gyro plate had a great amount of food there will definitely leftovers. The meat is very flavorful and all the sides are freash and refreshing! My favorite meal is the meatball soup and the lemon rice in grape leaves as an appatizer with a couple of chicken skewers! I absolutely love the beautifully seasoned chicken and the delicious crisp pita bread it is so mouth watering! This place is a small treasure! I love to come here with the family not really a place for a big even but they can definitely make the food!! All The dessert is just so delicious! Baklava❤!! dont be scared of the honey donut balls they are pleasantly slightly sweet!! I love them they are always a scrumptious treat at the end of a meaty or hearty meal! They have vegetarian meals too.
