The boiled crawfish are seasoned and boiled well- easy to peel. I tried a few other items such as the fried shrimp plate and the fried green tomatoes; the latter not an item seen at many like places. Here’s my take on the fried green tomatoes: they were sliced very thin and were on the small side but fried well. The sauce that topped them was basically Creole mustard which I felt wasn’t a good choice due to to the over powering vinegar content for that type mustard. The fried shrimp were tasty and fried well with a light batter. The fried potatoes that accompanied the dish were mediocre. The tarter sauce was good but the dipping sauce that came with the boiled crawfish was basically a mixture of ketchup and mayo, which wasn’t impressive in my opinion. All of the food was cooked fresh and served hot. The counter waitress was very friendly and accommodating. All n all this is a place I would recommend. The only thing I would point out is that for what you be get, it’s a bit on the pricey side as compared to other like seafood...
Read moreCame for the grand opening today and we got to try a good bit of the food since we had a big group and all shared each meal we ordered. Everything was exceptionally good! We even got food, crawfish and more daiquiri to go!
The pulled bbq brisket has got to be the best I have had! The crawfish were flavorful, juicy and spicy! The smoked wings have a great taste and not just smoked flavor like most other places. The roastbeef is sooo good! The fried green tomatoes go great with the brisket. The fried catfish was perfectly crispy! The potato salad is so good! I like the fries too. The variety of sauces are nice especially with each tasting so good! The home made daiquiri was very good. Way better than any regular daiquiri shop. The beers are extra cold and served in a big frozen glass!
The staff is super nice. The music they play is the perfect volume and good music too.
The whole atmosphere is awesome!
Definitely perfect for a lunch meeting, a date or just to eat alone honestly.
Definitely my new...
Read moreSerendipity is defined as finding something wonderful when you weren't even looking for it. That's what happened to us at Bons Temps Boulets! Our flight was canceled, we were stuck out at the airport & wanted one last taste of authentic NOLA cookin'. We Ubered over to this rustic (but colorful) looking place. All around us were huge platters heaped with bright red crawfish. But we ordered something else. Then I had the thought that maybe I should have tried the crawfish. It was then that the lovely Chelsea laid down a covered platter in front of us. She explained that the house speciality was crawfish...so she was giving us a sample. I had seen folks eating them & wondered if it was worth the effort. IT IS! They were off-the-chart fantastic! Hot, juicy & perfectly seasoned. Chelsea & her husband Steven (the cook) run this little gem of a place. After 5 days in the Quarter, we were treated to the best food yet! The food is fantastic & the hospitality...
