Celebrated a birthday dinner at Crabby Jack’s in New Orleans, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! This spot is everything you hope for when it comes to authentic, laid-back Louisiana charm paired with incredible food.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming—no frills, just good vibes and even better food. The menu is packed with classics, and every dish we ordered was a reminder of why Cajun and Creole cooking is truly something special.
The seafood was absolutely outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Whether it was the shrimp, oysters, or fish, every bite felt like a celebration of Gulf Coast flavors. The portions were generous (you definitely won’t leave hungry), and everything had that homemade, soulful touch you can’t fake.
What really made the night stand out, though, was the hospitality. The staff went out of their way to make the birthday feel special, adding that personal touch that turns a good meal into a memorable experience.
If you’re in New Orleans and want a spot that delivers authentic local flavor in a relaxed setting, Crabby Jack’s is a must. Perfect for a casual lunch or, in our case, a truly wonderful birthday dinner. Five stars all the way—can’t wait...
Read moreI almost hate to give this.place the good review it deserves, for fear of it becoming too crowded. There just is not another New Orleans restaurant that prepares such amazing, true New Orleans cuisine for a better price. Located in an industrial area and originally purchased to be a commissary (so I've been informed) for the famous Jacque Imo's, this place is a true local's secret. Should you go, have at least 1 person in your party order the seafood-dressing-stuffed mirliton with fried shrimp and cajun hollandaise. Blackened gulf fish with magnolia sauce is another winner. Poboys are excellent, with the smoked, shredded duck and the Fleur de Brees topping the list (my faves). Sides are also amazing -- best dirty rice anywhere, delicious mac & cheese. Not listed, but the will gladly make you "dirty mac", which is mac & cheese with the dirty rice meat. Entrees used to be $9.50, but have gone up to the still great price of around $12. True New Orleans fare at great prices, and the counter service and community seating just add to...
Read moreOur family stoped by Crabby Jacks for lunch at a recommendation from a friend back home. The food was so good, it is worth a repeat trip and a high recommendation. The fried chicken was so tasty and juicy, I could not stop eating it and actually ate some of my teenage son’s fried chicken plate as well. Their cup of gumbo got my teenage son to venture a new food experience and he loved the gumbo and is now hooked on it. My wife had the soft shell crab plate and thought that was made just perfectly. The atmosphere and friendly conversation with the staff of the restaurant made the lunch a perfect outing. It may look a little rough on the outside, but my experiences has told me that those type of places make the best darn food. It is very true with Crabby Jacks, as the place is full of character and the food...
