Chas and my friend Chloe had been to Smalls Sliders already and they said I absolutely needed to check them out when I got back down to the Nola area. Yeah ok...don't threaten me with food! Upon pulling up it immediately gave off a Chic Fil A feel with the way the drive thru was setup and how people were working the drive-thru taking orders on foot. It also in a way gave off a checkers feel by the look of the building and limited seating outside. Neither of those things were a plus or minus for me honestly, but I could see the drive thru being something people don't love because once you're in it, there's no way out so if they're super busy, you're stuck.
We grabbed some cheeseburger sliders with bacon meals. The food came out fairly quickly and everything looked and smelled great. I mean, if you go into this thinking you're going for white castle, you're going to be insanely surprised. I have been to many slider spots so I was aware of what was to come, but I think people associate sliders with white castle or krystal and that is just not the game anymore.
Plenty of meat, bacon, and cheese and the rolls were soft and fresh. I'm not sure what else I could even say about them. Cooked well and seasoned well. I never get waffle fries at chic fil a because they're always lukewarm and not crispy but these waffle fries were good, I have no complaints about them. Price was right in line with what it should be also.
Smalls Sliders in Metairie, LA - Didn't Suck!

Read moreI just moved back to NOLA from Baton Rouge, where Smalls is a staple. I was really happy to see we got a Smalls out here, but I was surprised to see the negative reviews about the burgers being bland. I’ve eaten smalls sliders countless times, so I have an idea of how they’re supposed to taste, and I know that they’re always flavorful. However, to my dismay, the previous reviewers had good reason to think the sliders from this location were flavorless. Their sliders didn’t taste like the many I’ve eaten before. I knew something was off in the first bite. Something was missing, or at least lacking. It didn’t fulfill my smalls craving because it didn’t taste like smalls. What was missing, or, in this case, severely lacking? The smalls sauce. There was only one dot of it right under the pickle.
I implore this location to stop skimping on the smalls sauce. The sliders as they are now are not proper representations of what smalls does best. This location has so much potential, but the product here needs to get up to company standards. Like, look at the pictures Smalls has of their sliders and notice that the sauce isn’t a small dot hidden under the pickle. Please, please, please don’t cut food costs with the sauce. The potential profit margin isn’t worth the reputation damage.
I’ve attached pictures of one of the sliders. Real smalls fans know this...
Read moreFirst of all the drive-thru route is all messed up at this location. We had to wait in the drive-thru line for about 20 minutes before receiving our order. We placed the order with a Smalls associate before arriving at the menu board for some reason. I asked for a receipt and they told me I would get one at the pick up window. Our order had fries and we payed extra for their sauce. If i didn't check the bag before leaving I would have paid for, but not received my sauce. When I mentioned to the cashier they forgot my sauce she argued with me and said they were already in the bag. I told her that was incorrect. Those some of the worst fries I've ever eaten. They were luke warm and about as limp as raw dough before going into the oven. My wife ordered a Biggie Smalls and her sandwich was unremarkable. The food also was presented in white non-branded Styrofoam containers. With having to justify not getting the sauce i paid for i forgot to ask for my recipe a 2nd time. When I got home no receipt was given in my bag. This is a failed experiment for whichever franchisee that poured money into their chain. We will not return. There are much better fast food restaurants who deliver better quality food...
