I have been to Buena Vista so many times but it has always been for happy hours or dinners so never had the opportunity to have Finca's coffee because of I rarely drink coffee that late.
This time I made it up there only for the coffee. I wanted to finally give it a try.
Their coffee is certainly of good quality. It checked all, or pretty much all, boxes, such as strength, acidity, balance, etc.
Service was friendly and ambiance was nice. While the space inside the store is limited, it has a beautiful seating area outside should you want to have your caffeine al fresco.
During my visit, I had two main issues though. The first one, kind of linked to the second one, had to do with presentation which is not a big deal but kind of a given when you are charging such high prices. How did they miss the mark here?
By now you know what the second problem is. I understand coffee prices reached a historic peak early in the year and they have been slowly coming down since then, but I would expect Finca is less exposed to these market price fluctuations when they are vertically integrated. Either way, their prices (for any given coffee drink) are about $$1.5-$2 higher than the competition for the same quality.
All in all, I would come back if I'm in the area, maybe next time I get lucky with some leaf/heart...
Read moreStopped by Finca Coffee in Miami for a quick latte and ended up walking out without ordering. The shop is tiny, maybe 5 feet of standing space. So I respectfully waited on a stool just a couple feet from the register while the person ahead of me placed their order. A loud customer on their phone came in and skipped right ahead without realizing I was waiting. The employee looked at me and asked me if I was first. My response was itâs okay, Iâm in no rush. I let it slide to keep the peace.
After about 10 minutes of waiting for the employee to ask me to place my order while he was deep in converstation with the customer, three firefighters walked in and as soon as the last customer received their order and walked out, they started placing their order too. The employee began ringing them up without even acknowledging me. I politely interrupted and said, âYou forgot about me.â He apologized, but then⌠kept taking their order.
At that point, I just walked out. It wasnât about the wait. It was the complete lack of awareness or consideration from the employee. It wasnât a language issue either. I speak both Spanish and English fluently. Just...
Read moreIâve spent so much of my time here, as well as my money (happily). However, so much has changed recently with the baristas and the way coffee is prepared. Fincas has the most delicious bean, the perfect ambience, great customer service, everything is PERFECT. I have been here nearly 3-4x a week for the past year. I love this place, but when the baristas were switched the coffee was not what it used to be. The milk is not frothed correctly, the concentration of the matcha powder became too strong and bitter, the latte art disappeared..I mean it completely changed. I love the people who work there but they are not making the coffee what it used to be. A good barista is a quissential part of a good coffee shop. The 4 tenants of coffee are miscela, macchina, macinadosatore, and mano. This shop is missing the âmanoâ, also known as the âskillâ. Please take this feedback and make it what it used to be, because I want to keep coming...
