This was my second stay with Nomada at Quadro, having stayed with them in 2022, so how was it second time around – well read on to find out!
The Quadro complex remains well maintained and on arrival you are greeted with a stunning undercover reception with a beautiful art installation in both the outdoor canopy area and within the South building reception. We were greeted by Raquel at reception who was very professional and checked us in on behalf of Nomada, issuing us with apartment key cards, lifts and communal area fobs and a parking tag for the large undercover secure garage.
We were quickly settled into our stunning 12th floor apartment which was extremely clean and receives my five-star rating for the amenities provided in the apartment, which included a great selection of kitchen utensils, dishwasher tablets and enough bin bags for our 10-night stay, nothing was missed. The bathroom also had an excellent supply of all the necessary consumables, towels and toiletries it is clear that the management team has listened to feedback from previous guests and taken the necessary remedial action.
The property is extremely well decorated and has good quality fixtures and fittings if there was one area of criticism it would be with the sofa which provided uncomfortable seating for us having no armrest support making getting up quite a challenge, also a selection of soft and firm pillows would better cater for all travellers needs.
The building has a good size gym and a nice pool deck area which was generally calm and quiet every time we visited making it a nice place to relax and workout, swim or just lay back and chill. This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Miami and have outgrown the South Beach vybe, there is a plethora of things to do on your doorstep and with the Design District a 5 min walk away and a nearby Publix & Target supermarket you will not struggle to keep your large fridge/freezer fed with those holiday essentials.
The only downside with staying with Nomada is the lack of personal contact with anyone from the company, you will notice the absence of any Nomada staff names from this review. This is in stark contrast to our stay weeks earlier at Sentral where the staff were such a joy to interact with and added so much value to our stay by recommending restaurants, events and places to visit that even us seasoned travellers to the 305 had not known about. This was also reflected when we requested an earlier check in and received a text informing us that “we can only coordinate and know that the day of the change, will keep you posted” and no one never got back to us. It feels very sterile staying here and lacks the personal touch which in my opinion gives its competitors a clear and distinct advantage.
It was interesting to note that I was offered the opportunity to check in early for a $60 fee, prior to our arrival, this is not in my opinion an approach to guarantee return business. Whilst I respect that there is no right to an early check-in, I do believe there is a right to professional customer service with timely responses to any request made by...
Read moreDespite this being a beautiful property, we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome.
For context - we were a family, traveling to Miami to relax. We weren’t loud, we didn’t come to party. However, we felt like the property was controlled by an over-bearing parent.
There are rules everywhere. No eating in the bedrooms. No food or beverages around the pool. Guests are not able to use the pool or other common spaces before or after check out. Don’t put knives in the dishwasher.
They literally MONITOR the noise in each unit.
There is not nearly enough pool furniture. People were sitting on the ground. And of course, there is a rule against moving pool furniture.
Our unit had espresso mugs and wine glasses, but no regular glasses and no baking sheet to cook anything in the oven.
Our sofa bed could not close without the force of two grown men. We were unable to sit on the couch one day because we were waiting them to come and fix it.
Access is controlled by both a key fob, a key card, and a parking pass. Lose any one of them and the charge will be $25-$150. The system made it difficult for our family to move about the building. I got got stuck several times without the ability to return to my floor. I can’t imagine why they don’t use numerical key pads like every other rental I have ever stayed at.
The building has very few restaurants or bars in walking distance. Unless you are interested in walking to McDonalds or Denny’s, you really need to drive everywhere.
The worst part for us was the day we spent without water. We notified them in the morning that we had no water. That evening, we still had no water and called the emergency line. The emergency line doesn’t actually address urgent issues - they only take a message and promise you will be contacted in the morning. When I called the next morning, I was told that the water was a city issue. When I asked if they were making anything available to guests - such as BOTTLES OF WATER - they said no. So there we were with our 3 kids, no water, and no way to flush the toilet. I asked to speak to a manger and was told I would receive a call back but that it might not be that morning because they were so busy answering calls. I never heard from a manager. I contacted them in writing to ask for compensation for the room for one night and they never responded.
At that point, the property had been aware of the water problem for 24 hours. They also received notice via the emergency line. There was no reason for them to be unprepared.
Miami is a beautiful city and a vacation there should be carefree. Nomada is poorly managed. Stay...
Read moreWe (family of 4 - kids age 12&9) spent eleven fantastic days at Nomada Miami Design District in April 2023. We stayed at a two bedroom condo with panoramic bay view. Booking was very easy, directly on the Nomada online page - only complain is that the confirmation/receipt emails did not list the booked room. But we did get the right condo.
Once we confirmed our online-check in, we were looking forward to our arrival. Nomada even offered to stack the fridge before our arrival (at our own cost), which we didn't use.
Regardless of our late arrival in Miami, our check-in at Nomada was very easy. Some bigger signs at the parking garage would make finding the entrance to the two towers easier.
The condo was very clean - at the beginning the smell of cleaning supplies was very strong but this faded away after the first day. The kids had their own room with two beds, a full bathroom and a big closet space. The big closet space was very usefull for our big suitcases. The master bedroom had a big window towards the bay (including great sunrises every morning!!!). The living & dining room had a big corner balcony with views of the bay and a constant breeze. This location of the condo and the great views also included street noise of Biscayne Blvd, which didn't bother us.
The kitchen was fully equipped for a family of four. We really enjoyed the espresso coffee machine with the included welcome pods for the first day. There are also welcome pods for the dishwasher and the washing machine. All the equipment in the kitchen worked and were easy to handle.
The kids really enjoyed the pool every day and on rainy mornings the pool table. The fitness center was also very good equipped.
There is a Publix up the street and numerous restaurants within walking distance.
We really enjoyed being within the design district and the location offers to visit many places in Miami within a short drive.
We booked a late check-out for $60, which allowed us to stay at Nomada till 2pm on check-out day.
We can definitely recommend Nomada Residences and would come...
