3 stars for an ok Mofongo when I expected great since they got some recognition back in 2015 for the Mofongo. I started with the codfish croquettes and that was the highlight of my meal which is not what I expected. I came here to try the famous award winning Mofongo and left a bit dissapointed. I ordered with pepper chicken which is basically chicken fajitas made with onions and peppers. The plantain mash was very dry and if it wasn't for the sauce that came with the fajitas it would've been even harder to eat. I got one piece of chewy pork rind(chicharron) in the mix and the outside of the mash was hard almost like chewing rubber. The chicken on the fajitas had really good flavor but was also very rubbery as if it was reheated. Honestly I ate this because I was really hungry but it was not a good meal except for the croquettes. guess they used to cook better and make an amazing Mofongo back on the day but I never had it before so l'm just judging what...
Read moreI was recently in Miami and I was craving some mofongo. We had went to two different restaurants, first one we saw the prices and was like nah.. second one, not good service and we got attitude and wasn’t welcoming - I won’t mention the names. But, we googled where to get some good mofongo and Milly’s came up and I read some reviews and it was enough for us to come through. We get there, seems like it was closed like people said, the plaza was a little small and traffic at night was annoying. But, we come in, had the door held open for us, I wish I remembered the waiter’s name because his service was great. He was making jokes, making us laugh, the food came out fast, it was like he was family. The taste of the food was delicious. I smashed my food and then some!! Lord have mercy, my craving was satisfied and the food was all worth it. The third time’s the charm, huh? I will definitely be coming back every time I’m in the MIA....
Read moreI woke up craving a Domican breakfast, after reading a few reviews I decided to give this place a try. I drove all the way from Homestead to find this place closed. I was confused and didn't understand why. Online it said it was open and the sign outside the door also said they opened at 8 AM on sundays, mind you its 11 AM by now. I decided to call and obtain more information. A very rude lady answers the phone and says the will open at 12 and when I questioned why, she said her cook had an emergency and had just gotten there at 10 AM. I went back to car and waited for about 20 more minutes before calling again, I explained I drove a very long way and that my kids were hungry as they were crying in the back seat. She then repeated they were going to open at 12 and that I had to wait. I left this place very disappointed to how unprofessional they were. I gave it one start only because ZERO STAR was...
