I can’t believe the experience that I just had at the store. I’m a frequent customer of Papa Johns. I placed an order For carry out, and when I arrive to pick it up, I was told by the manager on duty that someone called on my behalf and canceled my order, which is really absurd. She was unable to explain Who called or why this happened? I came here to pick up food from my hungry kids, and this made me upset. I was not upset to the point where I was disrespectful in anyway. I did assert to the manager that this was unacceptable and due to the fact that my previous order here was messed up and I was told I would receive a credit that I would like to have this order compensated because again this is unacceptable especially for a repeat customer. Instead of looking at the situation objectively, the manager on duty took my concerns as a customer personally. The manager asserted at that point that she does not give out credits to people who “demand them.” I was vulnerable and explained unnecessarily to her that I have kids to feed. I scraped together my last couple of dollars to come here to this establishment, and my frustration was not with her personally, but with the situation. She showed minimal understanding, offered 50% and we got into a discussion as to whether I wanted to eat there and I said please just give me a credit for the next possible visit due to the friction. then she said that she didn’t wanna give me anything and that I needed to leave the store before she called the police SMDH. I told her that I will not be leaving until she gives me her name and I’m calling corporate. She refused to give me her name. I called corporate while I was there and filed a formal complaint. She reported me for trespassing I reported her for discrimination. The officers arrived and listened to her complain about not helping a customer who experienced disservice at her restaurant. I am astounded that taxpayer dollars would be spent on such a thing. Then I saw her come out to the car and take a picture of my license plate as I was in my vehicle after returning from CVS! It is really sad that this Karen would rather cause a scene and And use the powers that be (her as a manager and involving the police) than to help a wholly dissatisfied customer. This establishment serves a vast community and many people of color. It is a horrible shame to see they hire people who use discretionary opportunities to discriminate for personal empowerment. Read moreMy recent visit to Papa Johns in Michigan City was a classic case of good news, bad news. The good? The ordering process was a breeze, thanks to their user-friendly app, which promised a hassle-free pick-up of a tempting pizza special. And indeed, upon arrival, I was promptly notified that my pizza was “coming out of the oven.”
However, that's where the smooth sailing ended. Despite the readiness alert, I found myself waiting at the counter for a not-insignificant 10 to 15 minutes. The reason for the delay remained a mystery, as no explanation was provided, leaving me to wonder if there had been a mix-up with my order.
During my wait, the atmosphere inside the store was somewhat disrupted by a recurring visitor, a gentleman in soaked sweatpants, who seemed to be on familiar terms with the place, frequently asking for various items. His presence added an unexpected and rather uncomfortable element to the visit.
Another point of concern was the security measure mentioned. A sign indicating that doors would be locked and that customers should knock to gain entry suggested that the location might have security issues. While safety precautions are essential, such measures can inadvertently contribute to a less than welcoming environment.
When I finally received my pizza, it was standard Papa Johns fare—decent, reliable, and satisfying. Yet, the overall experience was tinged with the curious and unsettling events of the wait.
In summary, while the food at Papa Johns Pizza in Michigan City met expectations, the service hiccup and the peculiar atmosphere in and around the store made for a somewhat off-kilter experience. It was fine for a quick pick-up, but it might not be the first choice if you're looking for a seamless and...
Read moreI'm so disappointed in the service tonight. We are frequent customers (once a week or every two weeks) Tonight was a HUGE disappointment. Scheduled delivery, said to arrive between 6:37-6:47, by 7:08 I'm calling to see where our order is because it had said that it was delivered. Yet we had no pizza. Within minutes of calling, our pizza arrives. Minus extra sauces, soda and being luke warm. So I call again, whoever you have answering the phone needs to be more connected with the customer. Not once did we get "I'm sorry that happened, we'll fix it!" Or even just an "I'm sorry".
Cue the second delivery. We received almost all of the sauces and the soda. We're still down a sauce, but whatever, we're hungry. The pizza... I'm blown away by the quality this evening, because this Papa John's is 99% of the time on point. Tonight though...we ordered original crust, and they spread it so thin, that it can be classified as a thin crust.
Let me also add that we're only 4 blocks away from this store, we always add a 20%+ tip for delivery and this is the service we receive. Unreal. Do better, because you've...
