My father in law was in town and wanted to take us out to dinner on Easter Sunday. My son was insistent on having Chinese food, lol, so that's what we decided to have. Most places were closed across town, being Easter Sunday, but luckily for us, Gourmet house was open. I haven't been there in years and believe it may have even been a different name back then.
Myself, my son, and my daughter all had the General Tso's chicken with rice and an egg roll. My wife had had the 4 seasons platter with rice and an egg roll, and my father in law had the sweet and sour chicken with rice and an egg roll. We ordered crab Rangoons for our appetizer, and everyone liked them so much that we ended up ordering seconds of that. We all enjoyed our meals as well. They tasted great and were very filling.
The service was amazing. The woman who took our order and brought our food and drinks was very kind and attentive. Made sure we had refills whenever it may have been close to needed. Checked in to make sure we were enjoying everything and seeing if we needed anything else. The food was cooked great. No complaints from any of us, only compliments. Everything was served in a timely manner, from the drinks to the appetizers and main courses. I ordered it extra hot and it came out tourist hot, but that's to be expected of a restaurant that does not know you. My wife's Curry Mein was light and tasty. My friend's Boneless Spare Rib and Pork Fried Rice were said to be very good, as was my other friend's Combination plate. The portions were very large. Plenty to take home.
Our experience was marred by the owner's four kids who were running amok, screaming, running, and walking all over the furniture.
We probably...
