So this is going to sound like a very negative review, but I honestly have nothing but the highest regards for the establishment, and love it whenever I get the chance to order food from Sakura Teppanyaki. The male manager is one of the best persons I have ever had the chance to exchange dialogue with and he always brings a smile to me whenever I see him working there. I don't know him on a personal level, only business as the customer, but he just has that type of charisma that just pulls you in and I thank him for running and maintaining the restaurant as he does.
That being said, this is about one of the employees that had a problem with me calling the restaurant back and requesting for a food replacement because I heard the wrong number when I originally ordered food and returned to do the exchange. I take responsibility for not making sure I heard the right number on the phone, but with how she was speaking she it was hard to tell what she originally said. I tried to confirm the number at first but she just hung up the phone without acknowledging it. That was when I ordered.
Afterwards when I realized that the order was wrong I called back and requested an exchange. Nothing wrong there. The problem came when I returned the food to the establishment. I brought it back, showed the receipt and said I was back to do the exchange. She took the food to the back and showed it to the female manager while waving it in the air. An alarming sight for one since the back of the kitchen is in full view. They went about their business and then the same female employee who took the food back brought the replacement to the front and dropped it onto the table. In a condescending way she said "Have a good one." The body language she showed in at the back of the restaurant wasn't nice, and her tone overall was just unsightly.
I understand it was at the end of the day and she was probably tired. The restaurant probably gets tons of phone calls back trying to pull the same thing with half eaten food, but there wasn't a single thing missing from the box I returned save for a single piece of chicken that fell onto the floor and went into the trashcan. My husband also works in the food service and gets that nasty treatment so I've learned to be more understanding in these situations. Especially since this time it was my fault for hearing the wrong number. I've also never made a negative complaint about a food industry worker in my life, but her professionalism was not okay. The body language showed that she was angry and the tone was just negative. I couldn't hear what she was saying at the back of the restaurant but I'm sure it was nothing positive.
I thank you for the replacement food when I made a mistake, and I'm willing to look past this event because it was just one instance. I love the place and will still give it the 5 stars it deserves because of the quality of the food and the awesome managers. But the female employee's professionalism just isn't okay. Also for clarity I am NOT talking about the male manager's wife, but the young female employee who is working there at this time. I'm also not going to let this detour me from going back to the restaurant because that would be an injustice in itself. I hope to see better in the future.

Read moreDelivery driver professional. Delivery time 23 mins from ordering to front door. PORTION SIZE SMALL FOR THE DINNER COMBO and it’s expensive!
So I ordered food for me and my son, I went to grub hub to see delivery times. I also saw this restaurant had a 4.5 star rating, I was curious and excited to see what it would taste like. The food arrived , we got 2 General Taos chicken with fried rice, and edamame , crab wonton. General taos sauce looks off, it's like a dark reddish/brown color. We are missing crab wonton. Well my son had taken a bite and said ew, it taste old and extremely dry. So I took a bite, and I would have to agree, it taste old like been sitting for a while, and like it had to of been fried to long, and extremely dry. Now for the best part, it completely and utterly taste like BBQ sauce that is burnt, my son tried another bite and did not want it any longer, I also tried another bite and again it taste like BBQ sauce NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER HAD EATEN GENERAL TAO CHICKEN THATS MADE OUT OF BBQ SAUCE. We ended up trashing the food. We called the restaurant and they refused to do anything about it. DO NOT I SAY AGAIN PLEASE DONT ORDER FROM THIS RESTURANT. I am extremely pissed and upset. I wasted a lot of money, this IS DEF NOT A 4.5 star rating! We both are highly let down. Now of those 2 bites I now have heart burn.

Read moreThis restaurant is one of Middle River's best kept "secrets". Located in the Martin Plaza shopping center in Middle River (between Target and Kohl's - closest to the Hair Cuttery), this sit-down or take-out restaurant is from the same people that have THE best Asian food in the White Marsh mall food court. Specializing in more than just Teriyaki, they also feature amazing favorites such as: General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, Gyoza, Edamame, and Japanese Noodle soups. Not to mention, the shrimp eggs rolls are amazing! All of the food is cooked to order and most of it is prepared right before your eyes.
The food is flavorful and in big portions for very reasonable prices compared to local Asian take-outs/restaurants. Unlike many Asian eateries, this location eagerly accepts special requests/variations of the items listed on their menu. If you want General Tso's without the broccoli (as I do) or Teriyaki Chicken with just Lo Mein and no veggies, they're happy to comply. The owners are extremely personable and are actively involved in the daily operations of this location, so between them and their staff, you are certain to have both a pleasant experience and delicious meal that will keep you coming...
