I have been going to Silver Moon for many moons! Loved, note LOVED it, but not anymore. My party of three dined there on Christmas Eve at 12 noon. Right from the get-go our waitress was salty. We were not even walked to our table, just waved there. Okay... the cushion had dried scrambled egg on there. No problem.. I just brushed it away. The salty dog came and took our drink order. We ordered coffee, sweet tea and water with lemon. We received our cold drinks, however, no lemon and unsweetened tea. After about 10 minutes i asked her for our coffee order... arrogantly replied "when I'm finished serving this other table" and scowled at me. Okay... when she returned with our burnt coffee my son asked for sweet tea. No problem. Right.. wrong.. you wont like it.. it's Lipton brisked brewed.. you'll be disappointed. . Okay.. I asked for lemon. In a flippant tone she said Yes Mam. She returned with my lemon and my son said he really DOES want sweetened tea. Don't say I didn't warn you. I can't make this stuff up. We decided to give her the benefit of the doubt which we did not benefit! After all it was Christmas Eve. Things went from bad to worse. we decided to treat ourselves to prime rib. Yummy. It was $19.95 and came with soup and 2 sides. The cream of crab was excellent as usual. Two of us ordered prime rib rare as it should be. Fine. While waiting for our food we were served at least one day old bread. I don't need to describe stale bread. We were at this.point getting a little bit frustrated. I went and sought out another waitress to get us warm fresh bread and she brought it to our table. When we finally got our dinner order the prime rib was so tough that my fork bent. Okay.. the prime rib was well done.So I asked the other waitress again to come over to the table. I explained that I asked for rare. the waitress exclaimed we couldn't get it rare.. really?? Really. Isn't that the way it's prepared?? At this point I asked for the manager. I explained about the coffee, tea and bread. She was very helpful and finally got our prime rib rare. But not tender and very fatty. Wrong again. I don't even think it was a cut of prime rib! ! Long story short our meal was $42.00 for one prime rib and they charged for one prime dinner and the manager charged us for 2 soups and vegetables that came with the dinner We will Not be back. Sorry.. Lost a long, loyal customer that day due to one sorry waitress and poor...
Read moreTHIS SHOULD BE READ IF YOU PLAN ON VISITING HERE. About a week ago I was here and ordered the "Jumbo Lump Crab Cake". Before I tell you about it, let me tell you unless you are GREEK, you will not be taken care of. If you are Greek, be sure to mention it when you walk in the door. They treat normal Americans like trash. They talk Greek all the time to each other. Little did they know I speak Greek. I kept my mouth shut and got an ear full. When I ordered my crab cake, I ordered it well done. When I received it, it was still cold in the middle. Our waitress was arguing with the owner and needless to say she never returned to the table to see if our food was ok. So, when she finally brought the check, she noticed I didn't eat it. She asked if I wanted the cook to put it in the oven again, but since 30 minutes had gone by I asked her to take it back and take it off the check. She took the crab cake to the owner (he was only 10 feet away from me) and he told her to throw it in the trash. He went into the kitchen and came out and returned to his seat at the counter where he was seated. No one said any more about it to me or any one else. The server brought the check and told me she took off the crab cake but still charged me for the sides. (how professional). When I went to pay, apparently they had talked about it and no one asked me how my meal was. So, I paid and left and went home (10 min away) and called and asked to speak with him and they told me he wasn't there. I asked for the manager and she told me she was his wife and wanted to know what the problem was. As I told her, she acted like she didn't know anything about it. When I told her I was Greek as well, she was willing to give me a meal on the house. I declined and told her I really wanted to talk to the owner. She again told me he wasn't there and if I gave her my phone # she would have him give me a call. well, a week later I still have not heard from him. Just goes to show you, he doesn't care about his business and people. I consider him a little to independent and not really caring of his customers. I won't...
Read moreI do not like to write negative reviews but the attitude and service from the women staffers (2) was very unacceptable and unprofessional. Now, I understand when operating a food business time is of the essence. From taking care of customers in person, placing orders over the phone, and packaging each customers dish mistakes can happen. We are human at the end of the day.
They say customers are suppose to check his or her order before leaving. My 73yr old mother did her best to check behind the staff and didn't realize one side dish was missing from the bag until she got home. It happens right!
Also not everyone can just turn their car around after driving 40mins when they have family at home waiting for a meal during Covid.
So, I asked for a rain check. Most restaurants wouldn't have made a big fuss over a minor mistake but nope, these women took their positions to a whole nother level. Gang possy
Yet, all we wanted was to return on another day when ordering , hoping they would offer us that (one) tiny side dish of green beans.
Instead we were giving lots of loud snappy attitude (extremely hostile) over the phone which was unnecessary. In addition, they commented about how some customers lie about what they ordered.
Now that may true in some cases, but what did that have to do with My Mother who paid Full amount for the multiple dinners. Seriously, the false accusation nor assumption is something you don't do just because you think you can. Or because of what the customer skin tone is. Unfortunately, this left a sour taste in my mouth and it wasn't from the strawberry cheesecake.
Will not return & we are happy to take our...
