Mike Carver Fresh Seafood Market — Restaurant in Middleborough

My first time and LAST TIME I will ever go here! I called and left a message for an order for “fresh” haddock and said my daughter and her husband would be by to pick it up. How can you mess that up right? 🤨 When she got there She was told that I ordered “stuffed” haddock. She told him that was incorrect. He was very intimidating to the young couple, told them he saved the massage if she wanted to hear it. (He should have reviewed the message the minute there was a discrepancy) He then went on to tell her he put it together because thats what I order and if she didn’t buy what he put together that he would not be able to sell it and would have to throw it out. He continued over and over again on what is was made of, how delicious it was and how to cook it - I was very upset with how they were spoken to and that I did NOT receive what I order even after being told that the Oder was incorrect. I went down myself and asked to Review the massage with him. however he conveniently just erased all his messages and insisted I ordered stuffed fish- I feel it was his mistake and he pushed the stuffed fish onto them so he didn’t have to loss money for his own costly mistake and I ended up paying the price. after bickering back-and-forth for 15 minutes, getting no where and having him telling me “just give my product a chance” I just left (very unhappy). Bottom line it was NOT what I asked for! And I don’t care for stuffing so no Mike I did NOT like it. From now on I might as well buy my fish at Walmart at least then I’ll get what...

Was definitely taken back by how rudely I was treated here. Anyone who knows me knows I’m ALL about supporting small local business and have always heard great reviews but WOW! I was told “I don’t need your whole life story” AFTER being asked questions about what I wanted to purchase and for when I needed it. After another condescending comment I mentioned his bluntness took me by surprise and I was then told “I’m the Captain here and you’re obviously young.” I’m 45 and have been in the restaurant business over 20 yrs and have very rarely been treated this rudely. We are fairly new to this area. We had multiple bad pieces of fish from our local supermarket. So we got some recommendations to try Mike's. We were not disappointed. His fish is always fresh. He truly cares about his customers. He has suggested ways to cook what you are buying and can easily answer any questions you have, always courteous, greets you with a smile and makes sure you have everything you need before you leave.
