I have been going here for probably close to 30 years and have watched the prices go up and up and up. I would expect that in 30 years, but it is getting dangerously close to the "not worth the price" zone for me. The restaurant is located in a strip center, nothing special on the interior, same old wall mural for as long as I can remember, and the lighting is uncomfortably BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT. They've packed extra tables in there also, so it feels like a maze. It used to be a comfortable neighborhood place of 'drop in for a great casual meal' but the prices no longer match the atmosphere, the décor, or the 'feel' of the place. Tonight, I had my first 'not great' meal there.... I ordered the eggplant parmesean, which is usually fabulous and fresh. Tonight, the eggplant had the telltale signs of hanging around for way too long-- it was almost black and very tough. They used to cheerfully give you a full basket of fresh bread... now, it's 4 small slices for 4 people and when I asked for more, I got 4 tiny slices from the very end of the loaf. Cheese on the (iceberg lettuce) salad is now up to 1.50 extra. I have noticed the quality and atmosphere slowly going down as the prices go up... with great regret, Santos will no longer be one of my first choices for dinner anymore. George... take a hard critical look at your restaurant from a customer's point of view, for food quality, atmosphere, and VALUE, and maybe change things up a bit. Time for a...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try this place the other evening. We ordered Cheese Raviolis with meatballs. I ordered a diet soda, and my husband ordered a decaf coffee. The salad first came out and was lacking dressing and there was nothing special about a basic salad with 2 cherry tomatoes, 1 cucumber slice. We asked her to please bring us some dressing. That never came!! We waited for our order about 1/2 hour and the place was not busy at all. The meal came and the women assured me that these were homemade from scratch there. Well not only were they not made from scratch, but the centers were frozen, and the dough was so al dente that it was not edible. The meatballs were cold in the center. The sauce was plain acid. Honestly, I have no idea how this place has ever stayed in business. The women took the meal away as we explained and showed her that it was not even cooked and obviously not made from scratch. She then gives us a bill of $16.00. I was like, what is this for? She said, since you ate the small salad (which we split because I had weight loss surgery) and ordered a diet coke and a decaf coffee this was the charge. I couldn't believe it. We did not even drink the soda and coffee. The coffee was like mud. We will NEVER BE BACK AGAIN! Terrible food,...
Read moreWe loved our dining experience! 11 of us ate there today and the food was wonderful! For appetizers we enjoyed the fried “house made” cheese with marinara, the fried zucchini with ranch, and the fresh cut fries. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We would order all of those again! We enjoyed fresh salads & soup as well. We then ordered: the buffalo chicken pizza, Mac ‘n’ cheese topped pizza, Italian wedding soup, cauliflower pizza, Stromboli, and grilled chicken sandwiches. The majority favorite was the buffalo chicken pizza made by Peyton the cook! It was the best our group has had:) The Stromboli was exceptional as well! The marinara sauce was delicious and the dough was so fresh and yummy. The cauliflower pizza tasted like a dough crust and was perfect for our family member with gluten sensitivity. Peyton & the cooking line did a great job preparing such a vast variety of food to be served all at the same time. Sherri the waitress did an amazing job serving all 11 of us! She kept our drinks topped off and the food coming out at the right times. The recipes tasted like secret family recipes that have been perfected and handed down from generations. We will definitely be...
