8Fifty is under new ownership, and the restaurant now offers much more than pizza. Their wings are cooked in the wood-fired oven and have a great crisp to them, with the sauce turning into a nice glaze from heat. Their Buffalo sauce is on the sweeter side and pairs nicely with the Mac and cheese. The garlic bites are the softest I think I’ve ever had and are dangerously addictive! The margherita pizza and the spinach and artichoke special pizza were both good. Our one critique on the food is that we think the crust or sauce could be a bit more flavorful, but the crust has a great crisp and our pies were charred perfectly. I have seen them come out darker than ours though, so if you don’t like char I definitely recommend asking for a lighter bake. They’ve expanded and have much more seating than they used to, as well as a full bar. In our experience the pizzas do take a while to come out, but the rest of the food came out fairly quickly. We’re looking forward to coming in for brunch on a weekend!

I live in Middlebury and this is the first time I went to this restaurant. Generally, it was very good. Apparently they have expanded the space in recent times and have installed a very large bar with high tops. I had the Jagger pizza with vodka sauce, cherry tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella. It was really quite delicious and I believe it was made in the Napoletana style. Simple fresh ingredients, very thin crust, slightly burnt edges, and a little chewy as it should be. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, albeit a little inexperienced. I will definitely come back and try other menu items.

Had a lovely dinner here. My husband and I tried the seasonal cider mule, then ordered some garlic parmesan rolls with marinara. My husband ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and I ordered a fig & brie pizza. They were delicious and we had some leftovers. The fig brie pizza was so good the next morning with an egg on top (pictured)! I didn't get pictures at the restaurant, but it was clean and had good low lighting, and was not too loud for a busy Friday night.

The pizza is good tasting but BUT ! The owner is extremely rude and not professional. Me and my parents ordered 2 pizzas and one to go so i could eat it before i went to work. As my parents night started to end the waitress awkwardly mentioned that they had a family issue and said something about them potentially running out of dough. She made it seem like they were being rushed even though they were waiting for the take out order and there were no other patrons waiting to sit. Also there were other people still sitting who had already finished their meals. Eventually they were told that they needed to wait in the back by the oven for their take out and that the owner wanted to see us. So we did so hoping that the owner wanted to talk to us about if we liked the pizza and any questions that we had like a good business owner would do, but that was not the case. He got right in our face and started yelling and asking us if we knew the rules, telling us that we not allowed to stay at the table for our other pizza that we ordered to go. There were other tables available and there was not a line out the door of people waiting for tables. The owner also after yelling at us was not going to give us our pizza that we ordered and paid for, he started to pull it away from the counter and my dad had to ask him to put it in the box in front of us because he was worried he might spit in it. The sad thing is the pizza was good but the bizarre and unprofessional experience has left us and all of our clients with a bad taste in their mouth. Wish i could go back and try this pizza place again but after such a terrible experience i will NOT and tell everyone i meet how this owner acted, very unprofessional....

This is my second bad experience at this restaurant so decided it warranted a review. First let me start by saying the wings are great and the pizza is good, but the experience and service is so bad that it's not worth coming here. The first bad experience was when one of the people in our party ordered a pizza that came with just meatballs but when it came out it had peppers and onions as well, which was not listed on the menu. When we tried to get the waiter he was no where to be find and when he finally was found we were told it was too late and the oven was off. Rather than take the pizza off the bill (which by the way wasn't eaten) the waiter said next time we come in "he's got us" whatever that means. He doesn't even know who we are nor will he remember me. Second, if they take a "summer break" and are closed this needs to be listed on the website. When your store hours are listed as "open" and the establishment is not open it is extremely frustrating for customers. At least get an answering machine that states the establishment is closed. Lastly, unrelated to my experience, reading these reviews and the responses from the owner are laughable. As someone who's family owns a business the first rule is the customer is always right. Arguing on a customers review is extremely unprofessional and deters clientele. All in all, the food was good but everything else sucked and is...

Well this evening we had the worst experience in this restaurant. We told the bartender/waitress that we were pressed for time we sat down and wanted to order right away. We put our order in and so did the Couple next to us. After 45 minutes the other couple had two pies delivered in front of them. Now it’s 7 o’clock they were finished eating, we were still sitting there waiting for our pies. We proceeded to tell the waitress to bring the check and she said your pies are in the oven now. We politely told the waitress we did not want the pies that we had to go because we were pressed for time her response was I did what I was supposed to do. So what does that mean you serve my soup then waited for me to finish it then you put the pizza order in? Is that how it goes? Are you kidding me? We have been there many times the pizzas are wonderful but the bartender/waitress is horrible. We have dealt with her before, she makes you wait for a very long time before she will acknowledge you. Mostly we don’t mind it’s kind of a common when she is bartending. But tonight we really flipped out! We told her we were pressed for time and she could care less and not put our order in right away. It’s to bad because my fiancé is very friendly with the owner who is a nice guy. I will...
