La Esperanza Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Middlesborough

Delicious! I'm not a lover of Mexican food nor restaurants. Generally, I avoid them both. However, after observing two of my friends enjoy their Fiesta salad, I had to have one. My salad was delicious! It was certainly worth the short drive from the hotel, where I stay when visiting Middlesboro, to La Esperanza. Not being from the Middlesboro area, I'm still learning the "in's and out's" of the local restaurant scene. Middlesboro doesn't offer a great deal of choice nor diversity when it comes to restaurants and food options. Fortunately, my friends at the Sleep Inn & Suites, turned me on to La Esperanza and the Fiesta Salad. You have three choices for protein; chicken, steak or mixed (chicken and steak). I enjoyed the chicken. The salad is large and was prepared fresh. I ordered to go and took it back to the hotel. La Esperanza is apparently very popular, with both locals and tourists. On the Thursday night I visited, it was doing a very brisk business, both dine in and take out. Although I didn't dine in, the restaurant facility and dining room appeared very clean and well maintained. The staff appeared very friendly. The kind gentleman who took my order was very pleasant and efficient. My total wait time from order to walking out the door was no more than 10 minutes. Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of Mexican cuisine, but the Fiesta Salad has certainly made me a fan of La Esperanza! I will return for another salad. Thanks for an excellent take out...

Been here many times in the past as i drive through middlesboro alot for work. Usually always a good peaceful time at this location compared to the owners other places. Was enjoying my food till I seen one of the waiters rip the shirt of the kid that works there. I watched them for about 10 minutes, he kept picking at the kid even when the kid made it clear he wanted it to stop and when the kid picked back the waiter riped his shirt. I confronted the guy told him that was wrong and he just shrugged it off. Hope the kid is ok. I didn't see him come back out to the front after that. I never liked that waiter. He always acts cocky when he's at one of the restaurants and rumor has it he's into some bad stuff and mistreats his girlfriend that is also a waiter at that place. Hopefully the owner fires him. So far every time I have visited this establishment I have never been disappointed. I had ordered two fajitas mixed,a Mexican pizza,and queso Blanco dip. And let me tell you I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. Everything was correct and everything was hot, there Mixed fajitas were hot and the peppers were fully cook though and the meat was tender.
