Taco Bell — Restaurant in Middleton

10/29/21/ Pulled into drive-thru at 12:14 (closes at 1am). Between me & pick up window, was about 6-7 cars. All else nearby was closed, so not bad for Friday night. 12:37 was when my order got taken & 1:01 I got my food. If drive wasn't narrow with curbs, I might've jumped/drove over as a few others did. That said... There was only 2 employees, 1 with a slight medical issue. And they were so very polite, espec the female. Any more chipper, I'd think it was phoney, LOL (if so, give her a golden globe award for best actress!). I've never been to this location til tonight, but all other locations always screw up the order & it's always messy. Not this crew of 2. Exactly.as ordered. No mess. Even perfectly folded, so no drippy messes while eating! Aside from the slowness, which I don't fully fault on them (I saw some giant bags handed over ahead of me) this was the best Taco Bell experience I've had since the mid 90s when there was a Taco Bell in West Towne Mall. I spent $29.58 and took it home. Got ready to eat and found there was barely anything inside of shells and tortillas for the actual combos I bought. But the two burritos I bought from their cheaper menu were well filled and huge compared to the expensive combos I’d gotten. I feel it’s really wrong to have to pay $10-12 for a combo then go to eat the main portion of it and find it’s got only about an inch of fillings inside of the tortilla or taco leaving a person eating mostly the outer shell of the item plain without anything else. Plus it really does not help your hunger to order a cantina taco and eat the shell with barely an inch tall and scarcely there amount of filling. Got my husband a new burrito combo to try and his chicken inside was about 2 inches long with a few pieces of the lettuce and stuff and the rest was all plain tortilla. this has to single-handily be the worst location in the Madison area. The service is non existent, the atmosphere is sad and just feels off. I like a good taco bell run but it 100% is worth going to literally any other one. 20+ minute wait times, no one up front at all. I know it’s all went the way of kiosk and app but there were multiple people waiting so long they left, and honestly I get service industry being busy, but it wasn’t particularly busy. Drive thru had a few people. But door dashers and customer were waiting for a very long time. I placed my order through app before I got there, about 5 minutes, and I still waited another 20 and still nothing. I had no choice but to leave.
