If you're looking for a great bar and food in Middletown, look no further than Hops and Barleys. This place has everything you need for a great night out with friends, from an amazing selection of beers to an excellent rotating menu. But what really makes Hops and Barleys stand out is the staff, particularly my bartender Linny, who is incredibly friendly and helpful.
The beer selection at Hops and Barleys is top-notch. Whether you're a fan of IPAs, stouts, or anything in between, you're sure to find something that will satisfy your taste buds. But what's really impressive is the rotating menu of seasonal and limited edition beers. It's always exciting to see what new brews they have on tap, and it keeps things interesting for regulars. I'm a grad student at Penn State Harrisburg, and I feel like I get an excellent value with my limited budget.
As for the food, everything I've tried at Hops and Barleys has been delicious, but the seafood bisque is out of this world. It was a limited special when I visited, but I hope they bring it back soon. The bisque was rich and creamy, with big chunks of fresh seafood and just the right amount of spice. Linny mentioned that this was their fastest selling soup ever. I would go back to Hops and Barleys just for this dish!
What really sets Hops and Barleys apart is the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Linny in particular is incredibly helpful in explaining the various offerings. It's clear that she's passionate about her job and takes pride in providing great service to her customers.
Overall, I highly recommend Hops and Barleys to anyone looking for a great brewpub experience in Middletown, Pennsylvania. The delicious beer selection, rotating menu, and friendly staff make it a must-visit spot. And if you're lucky enough to have Linny as your bartender, you're in for...
Read moreThe staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and accomodating throughout our meal, and the food was delicious! I had the French dip sandwich. The rib meat was rich and tender, the provolone was melted evenly and toasted on top, and the jou was light, peppery, and flavorful, making for a meal that was indulgent and rich without being overly greasy or heavy. The fries were double fried, crispy, fluffy on the inside and well seasoned with salt and pepper. My friend got the crab grilled cheese. She loved it, especially pointing out the variety of cheeses used and the thick, crunchy, buttery bread. The tomato soup it came with was rich and flavorful with chunks of fresh tomato added at the end of cooking to imbue them with flavor while retaining their shape. It was decorated with rustic pieces that made us feel right at home, and it was bustling with community; currently they are collecting donations for the Middletown Volunteer Fire Department! The next time I come to visit, I will definitely be...

Definitely doing this restaurant again. They have indoor dining and looks like outdoor. I do know they do dining pick up service. I was there for 30 mins and at least 5 different pick ups at the front of bar. If I was picking up I'd have to rate it 10 out of 10. Close area by the door door, clear view and packaged tagged with name. 2 thumbs up. Hope my next visit...
