J.T. Commons — Restaurant in Middletown

Our first visit to JT Commons - a new full-service restaurant at the former Foodlove location. They had a good crowd in for lunch on a Monday holiday but there was no wait for a table. Chad, our server, was very personable and provided excellent service. I had steak and cheese sandwich which was very tasty. My wife had the BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avacado, tomato) on focacia bread. Also excellent and we brought half of that home with us for dinner tonight. We each had french fries which are fried in beef tallow and were excellent. First off, our server was fantastic. The place opened a week ago, so we were expecting growing pains in the service. Not the case, Alex was awesome!! The pizza is next level delicious. We got the Spicy Hawaiian and the RI Mushroom. Cooked perfect, the mushrooms had so much flavor because they were fresh. Overall a great lunch experience. First time visit this evening with a friend. Ordered french fires ($11) as a starter with some beers. What arrived was a mass of soggy oily potato bits posing as fries. Then ordered the Hot Chix Roman Pizza, a wonderful mix of spicy peppers and chicken on a delicious crust served well done. Kudos to Kayla for great service at the bar and Sam for listening to my complaint about the fries. Highly recommend you try this...
