I was really optimistic about trying this place out after hearing and seeing great reviews, however as soon as I got off the phone after ordering my dinner for carry out I knew I was setting myself up for a disappointing meal. The one star is for the gentlemen who initially answered the phone, he was very polite and although he didn’t know the menu very well, he was still eager to help. I appreciated that. After a few minutes though, some other man picked up the phone and was seemingly irritated with my requests.. I’m assuming it was the head chef. I had asked if it was possible to order a specific pasta on their menu, but instead of shrimp, I was wondering if it could be substituted with lamb. I didn’t care about the extra charge, I just wanted lamb instead. Lol He said yes, but it would be “a lot of extra work for him” .....I nervously laughed, unaware if he was being serious or sarcastic and after a long pause I said “okay, I can order something else if that’s easier” and he replied “well that’s your decision, I’m just here to please you.” His passive aggressive tone was incredibly uncomfortable. I tried shrugging it off though, maybe he was having a bad day. Once I arrived to pick up my order, the front entrance was very congested and there was zero organization when it came to helping the next guest. My total was $46 and some change. I gave the hostess $60 and waited 15 minutes, until I finally asked if I was going to get my change back. She said “oh yes, I set it over there next to your food.” I had been standing around for almost 20 minutes and my food and change was sitting on a table around the corner from me. Not once was I notified. There were people everywhere though, so I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt. THEN I open my order to make sure everything is there... and this is what I got. Not only is the presentation awful, it looks like the cheese was microwaved on. I’ve been to a lot of good Italian restaurants and this was by far the most bland dish (to put it nicely) I’ve ever had. I hate to post negative reviews, but it was that bad. Unfortunately, I will not...
Read moreWe had a lovely lunch there that was planned before our Christmas trip from NJ to Midland. I had a surprise planned for after the meal and our server Morgan went so far above and beyond that it brought tears to my eyes. We started with an order of delicate and flavorful meatballs served with piping hot bread. I love the herbed EVOO and balsamic served with the bread. Few places bring that to the table without it being requested so big win for D'Alessandro's on that gem. Our boys had a margherita and a cheese pizza (kids menu sized). They loved the cheesiness and crunchiness of the crust - you'll find no soggy pies here! We had the Lasagna and the Chicken Marsala, standard staples in any Italian Restaurant worth its salt. The lasagna was thick, rich, saucy and meaty with tender noodles and just the right amount of salt. My Marsala was exactly what one should be. The chicken was seared with a nice brown hue and the sauce was delightful, not too saucy, thick or overwhelming like we tend to find in other places. For dessert we ordered a surprisingly traditional tiramisu that rounded out the meal just right. I proposed to my now fiancee at dessert! Morgan knew about it and hid in the shadows taking pictures for us, and went above and beyond! After my fiancee said yes, she promptly arrived with a complementary cannoli plate adorned with the word Congrats, and glasses of sparkling grape juice (none of us drink alcohol). Bless her heart, she sent someone to the store to get a bottle in order to make the moment extra special! MORGAN WE LOVE YOU! D'Alessandro's will forever hold a special place in our hearts because of how far above all expectations your amazing staff went to make our afternoon the most magical...
Read moreI have been going to D’Alessandros for at least 10 years and have always enjoyed the great service from both Shirley & Janet. It was a great place to have a good meal and support a local business. I am writing this review because as a local supporter and frequent customer here, I’m so completely disappointed on my last 3 experiences there. We get pizza or go out to eat almost every Friday night and since Covid, we have opted for more take out. Our first bad experience was about 5 weeks ago when we ordered our usual 2 large pizza’s, 2 antipasto salads and a few desserts. When we arrived to pick up the order, they forgot to make the pizza. Ok, no biggie, we had an additional 45 wait and had a very hungry crew waiting for the order. Second time, same order, got home no dressing for the salads and no Italian dressing on hand, so basically the salads were a bust. Tonight, ordered the same as we always do and Allison, who was very kind said, “We have a 2 pizza, 2 topping pizza special tonight for $24. I’ll give you that special and just charge you for a few extra toppings.” We get a supreme and a pepperoni pizza every time with salads and desserts and it’s roughly always $60. Tonight, I was expecting it to be a little bit lower, but no it was $88. I called and was told there was a big mistake and they would refund $28-$30. My son in law went up there and was refunded a big whopping $6. We basically paid almost $40 for a supreme pizza. This is the OWNERS doing and not the staff. You would think being a loyal customer, they would compensate you for their multiple errors. Our family is done with D’Alessandros and would not...
