Of all the places I’ve ever eaten at; and I could probably remember them all, because I got a brain like that, this has got to be the Greatest. Anthony Bourdain once took a trip into inner China and had some food from some simple Chinese folk; he said it was the greatest experience he’d ever had. This One is Mine; I’d never had Pho before, or eaten Vietnamese cookery but everything was there, the flavors, the Aroma, the warmth of the welcoming party. Winston and Emily don’t just have you over to eat food, they go all out AND TAKE YOU TO VIETNAM; I’ve NEVER FELT so here and AWAY, so in the present yet timeless. The Pho is the real deal, homemade broth with a great depth of flavor. The beef is great quality, not chewy or tough. The sprouts, thai basil, lime wedge, and jalapeños (all served on the side) are fresh. The are plenty of noodles as well. I asked for my order of Pho (#3 on the menu) to go, it was well packaged with the broth in a styrofoam container and the beef, noodles, etc. in a separate container. I ordered the large serving and it was plenty for 2 people. The cost of $17.99 was very reasonable for the quantity. They do have a smaller size available. The Best FOOD I’VD EVER HAD. Once in a while, you get that moment in your life where you have to pick that place, and that time. And this one is Mine. Fortunately, as serendipity would have it, it was here. This PLACE IS GOURMET; somehow, we got LUCKY, and the middle of unsuspecting Michigander’s, is the Greatest place to eat home cooked food whose recipes are probably from dynastic times.
