Daniella C took our order on Mothers Day and you can tell she was not happy that day. I told her that it was my first time there and she never smiled and greeted me and I can’t see the menu with my glasses on so it took me awhile to read it for my first time. You can tell she was getting annoyed.
I then asked if she had tea she said ya with an annoying face and it felt like she threw the basket of tea bags in front of me to see what kind of tea they had. I just quickly ordered because I could tell she was not having it with me…
My sister and my mother ordered and they had a hard time too. They said they asked for the free pie for Mother’s Day and said she seems annoyed with that as well and never offered.
Overall we wish we knew how the whole process worked before coming there. Salad was amazing but my mom and sister’s sandwiches were disgusting. My niece also ordered a grilled cheese but didn’t know there was bacon and tomatoes on it so she didn’t eat. Wish we had a more welcome experience. The pie was delicious but we won’t be...
Read moreEverything was exceptional! The service was pleasant, the food was decent and the atmosphere was lovely. They use warm lighting with gentle instrumentals of pianos and harps which I found pleasant. I've ate here a couple times but at least once a month I stop in to pick up a pie and the pies are best in town!
The only negative thing I have to say is the pot pie I had left a little to be desired. The pie crust was delicious, but the filling wasn't as creamy as I'd like and the chicken was unseasoned white meat that was rather stringy and reminded me of some less than pleasant wild game meat I've had. Often coming from rodents like squirrels and gophers. I'm not a white meat guy, I tend to avoid it at all costs but I'm aware that if I order anything chicken based at a diner I'm goofing to be served white meat, so I was expecting chicken breasts. I wasn't expecting such a bland taste and stringy...
Read moreFirst I've picked up many cinnamon rolls to share with friends. (On this Sunday am). My husband picked up 3 cinnamon rolls they where horrible! Dry & they where not even rolled tight! Disgusting! How did these make it to the case?! Also the blue berry turnover and Bavarian cream was tastless and sickly sweet. This should never happen at a place of this level of baked goods! I will be returning all of it for a full refund! Maybe just a lazy baker & isolated incident? I can't understand how these baked goods where even allowed in the case & with a manager on duty? It will be awhile before I try Grand Traverse Pie Company again. The only thing I can equate this incident to is like showing up to Nieman Marcus or Sak's Fifth Ave and finding piles of clothes everywhere looking like Khols on Black Friday. EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED •••• gave full refund was...
