I just moved from Los Angeles and wanted to spot a decent Mexican spot. This place is different, for me not in a good way. Over priced, I ordered two tortas de milanesa with papas and a drink. Came out to $23. The fries were like a hamburger place gone bad. They were kind of hard and burnt. The torta didn't have enough aguacate. The milanesa was a bit salty and spicy. The only good thing I could say is the bread from the torta was good. Too bad they do not sell that type of bread. I bought 3 big bollilos seemed a lil hard but hopefully the oven at home will help. The ladies at the register seem to rush. Do not give a receipt unless you ask which is odd. Another lady was rude. I asked if they had a to go menu and she had placed an order for a menudo. Lol She got really upset and stated she asked many times. I said menu not menudo and I am fluent in spanish. These females seem to be from another place other than Mexico and I get the feeling the people who really enjoy their food do not know any better.......
Read moreWent to pick up my order, for my food, went home, they charged me for an extra burrito and the burritos were wrong. Went back to get them fixed, they took the burritos to the back and brought me back the same burritos. He told me that that’s how they make their homemade chorizo. Out of anger I ended the discussion with him and had my wife call. When my wife called he said he went to talk to the kitchen and they said they were out of the meat they normally use for their chorizo and had been using beef sausage and refunded us. Really good place to eat, been going there all my life, this was just a...
Read moreI have been a returning customer for 10 years! I have seen this establishment grow through out the years. The variety of baked goods makes Martinez a wonderland of a bakery! The food has been and still is simply the best. My faves are the crispy estofado/brisket tacos. Loaded with just the right amount of seasoned brisket, fresh cabbage, tomato, avocado, lime wedges, green salsa and topped with cheese! The torts with estofado, ham, cheese, avocado, lettuce, & tomatoes are another fave of mine. ~Don't forget to take some sweet baked bread home for your morning coffee. Perhaps you are tired of showing up with donuts and want to take it to a new level at the office. Don't get me wrong, I love donuts, but like my Dad would say, "variety is...
