Sad how I only lasted my first job three weeks. Never would have imagined I would get treated with disrespect in this place. My first day was amazing. Really never would have figured that my third day, managers and the owners yes the owners would give me some type of attitude while I just started working three days ago. When the owners think they have good managers, they really don’t. Two of them got to work buzzed on alcohol or high, one of them arrive to work high asking the cooks to make her food because she’s hungry, one of them has an attitude, and the other one likes to grab stuff that does not belong to her. They day the managers and owners started to give me attitude, I always took my emergency alarm for if I was ever in danger an alarm that I thought would be able to use again. As I was going back in from turning in an order, I went in getting my next order ready for me to turn in, then hear an alarm go off and I looked to the direction I heard it from and I see my lanyard attached to the alarm not knowing that my alarm won’t work, and could have been used for an emergency and of course it was a waste of money and I haven’t bought a new one ever since that day. I also don’t think it’s fair that cooks get 2 hours break and Car Hops don’t have no breaks at all mind you the cooks do not get payed for those 2 hours of there break which my man and other employees insisted not to have 2 hours and have 30 minutes instead but it was mandatory to have 2 hours of break. The day I was supposed to work I reported before time I couldn’t work because I was busy moving apartments with my family and was reported before hand as well before the day arrived so as I was told I couldn’t have the day even tho it was reported weeks back this made me so stressed to the point my hair was falling out badly and was extremely tired due to no breaks and no rest I decided to quit that day because I had a family emergency that has to deal with a seizure and when It comes to my family and I, my family comes first over anything. I get a call from my man saying that the manager is giving me another chance giving me hope that things can work out at sonic, so I was told to arrive at 5-12 and that she would like to speak to me before I start my shift, and so I did the next day I was arriving, the energy I felt was not good I felt some type of energy I didn’t want to feel, but I already knew what to expect and so it did. The owners are there one of them told me “I should have been there from 11-5” but I explained that “I was told to arrive from 5-12 from one of your managers” so Larry one of the owners went ahead and said “I wasn’t told nothing” and proceeding to tell me why didn’t I arrive yesterday to work so I told Larry what happened I explained to him why I couldn’t be there and he went ahead and said “WHATEVER HAPPENS OUTSIDE OF WORK STAYS OUTSIDE OF WORK BUT WHEN YOU GOT TO WORK YOU COME TO WORK.” and the amount of tears that I held back in my head and remembering what happened to my family member that night got me so mad and so upset that something worse could have happened. Minutes later the manager wanting to talk to me tells me to step outside for a talk leaving me outside in the heat for almost 30 minutes just waiting to get it it over with and explain to her what has been going on after that she came out tells me what’s going on I explain to her how I feel emotionally, explain to her how that we are moving, I have a trip to get the rest of our stuff, and the incident that happened that passed night and was was unexpected. She didn’t let me finish said I was childish and told me that in her opinion, saying she didn’t need me working there no more so all I said was that I’ll quit when she knows I had told her on the phone that night that I was quitting she said she will give me another chance but instead it was a set up to show up and look like a fool, but it’s ok because like I was told “just like you found that job, you will find another job.” And SO I DID!!! It was chilly ...no rain, snow or wind. It was 9:38pm when I ordered and it was just one item... one cherry limeade route 44. I was in lane 4 then 11 mins passes and a car in lane 5 pull up ordered and gets their order of two burgers and soda before I did in 3 mins. So, I pressed the button ...they (Sonic) answered “order when your ready “ I told I had already done so ...15mins ago ? They never offered any apologies they just said ...ok. Guy gets there rushing to me the drink one min later it feels old warm and melted I handed back to him and I asked when was this made? Employee stated (he) doesn’t know? I told him to pure it out and make it again that customers don’t like old melted drinks. After he left ...I decided to Got off the car asked to speak to the manger for a explanation on what occurred?Manager very reluctantly came out which was Vanessa who never offered an answer as to why it they forgot my simple order. Only that it would be refunded on my card and ignored me after that when I asked why it took almost 20mins....After they forgot my order. same guy who does try’s to give me a new drink that’s leaking on top all over the side I told him to please clean it he did. time was almost 10pm (9:54) 😠Horrible experience and this sonic team forgot my simple order then, couldn’t answer why it occurred then ignored me and finally for the end never gave me a apology or receipt I did get a refund which is fine. Team needs to be retrained starting with How to be courteous and knowledgeable on how to serve a customer properly. Then there are company steps that they should be following so customers aren’t forgotten and apologize if there was an issue with the order. Second and more concerning is Manager Vanessa isn’t people friendly and failed her job because she never tried to talk to me. Barely made eye contact a defendant No no in customer service and wasn’t sincere when she spoke in a nonchalantly stated that my card was refunded then walked off. So she never really cared about my issue and ignored me until I told I wanted my receipt which was never given until I demanded it. This Sonic needs a better manager that has social skills because this one Mgr Vanessa acts like she’s never been around people like a teenager who doesn’t know how to talk to adults or doesn’t know how to look at people or enter into any anything perductive customer related conversations because she might learn something on what wrong maybe if she cared but she doesn’t. So Vanessa will never grow into the position as she needs to so Sonic needs to replace her ASAP because she is the wrong person WHO DOES NOT CARE. It’s not the first bad experience two weeks ago my mother-in-law pressed the button 3xs in 20 mins and never got the bag of ice eventhough she ordered and they (Sonic) repeated the order back to her. As a result she left because she to was forgotten and ignored. Yes sounds like a familiar pattern or tendency here.
A manager leads a team in a positive way and helps them learn how to work with customers even when errors occur, so you dont piss them off. Because (Vanessa) you have chosen to ignore them because you no longer care. In other words a manager will never be perfect but expected to try to “acting like one and listening to customers complaints so they can fix a problem that should occur.“ *However in this case it’s a lost cause because you can fix stupid this manager is stupid because she (Vanessa) refuses to even try to care or look in the customers directly when they are speaking to you. This is Fatal customer tendency that always equals no more future business visits, because; I will not ever return until someone else is in charge that wants customers business. First thing when they answerd the intercom I said “can you give me just a second” because I was coughing, and the lady said “well press the button when you know your ready” and then hung the intercom up, this was very rude and made me kinda upset but I thought id give them a chance. So after i pressed the button again I asked for a manager. She came out and asked if we would like her to take our order so I ordered 4 JR Deluxe cheesburgers and two of them were supposed to have mustard and no onions and the other two were supposed to have ketchup and mayo with NO onions and i orderd one large Tot and one large Fry and a small side of jalapeños. Then the food comes out and it was missing the side of jalapeños and the burgers had NO veggies what so ever. so we send the food back in and they brought it back out with veggies INCLUDING ONIONS and all four burgers had ketchup and mustard. So i call the manager out back out and got a refund and i ask is my tip going to be included in the refund (i had gave the carhop a tip because i thought my food was correct) and she told me that if i wanted my tip then i would have to come back tommrow and get it.
