Pulling up in Midlothian, I wasn't expecting anything amazing. Vintage buildings and road construction: How could this ol Mom and Pop looking place have more than an average burger? But my friend said I would be pleasantly surprised as A true foodie. There's ample seating in 2 separate rooms and a wide array of eclectic pieces all around with bottled or fountain drinks ... I'm thinking ... ok Braums burger at best, ok? Umm, no, that's not it at all. The tall, bearded man behind the counter asked what we wanted, and after mentioning "it's my first time," he had a ton of delicious suggestions, and each sounded more delicious than the previous. We went with 2 simple cheese burgers (you can't mess that up) and ATW (all the way) per his suggestion with" condiments AND bbq on the side" ... umm ok and fries. Excitedly, he said "great I'm going to cook yours real good. "... honestly I was afraid but I watched as he prepared our order. Fresh cut fries and they're seasoned and cooked to perfection 👌🏽 I was impressed with the fries and ready to walk away, but wait.... " There's more," he said 😆 they have Blue Bell ice cream and make a variety of old-fashioned floats 😋 my stomach wasn't ready for that this visit, but omg, they look sooooo delicious if I have room after this burger I might have too. As the lunch rush is trickling in and out a crowd of mixed regular working folks, young college students, seniors on a lunch date, office lunch groups and families everyone is asking if I'm excited yet and how delicious my burger is going to be ... I'm like they use to be excited about McDonald's burgers too 100 years ago but I'm getting hungry and as I look over 😱 he's generously sprinkling the Burger Magic on our patties and toasting the bun. What!?!?! Signs this burger is possibly better than homemade 😋 he's onto something amazing, NOW I can't wait for me to taste it to confirm or deny if it's GREAT or average, but I am getting excited. Freshly cut FRESH vegetables and thin crisp pickles. This Burger Guru assembles our masterpieces, and then he brands the burger bun 🤯 I need to see if this bun is grilled perfectly with the tasty crust and if this meat is delicious or dry? OMGOOSH I have a foodgasm with a French fries 🍟 but now this burger ... after adding mayo, mustard, and ketchup, I cut this juicy peice of prime burger meat in half because it's presented like a fancy cut of steak knife down. That first bite got me doing my happy dance in my seat. Wow 👌🏽 fantastic, in-between bites of savory delicious burger I toss in a delicious fry and on the second half I added the bbq sauce oooohhhhhh pour it down my throat it was good and on the burger now I almost had tears it was so juicy and well cooked. The bun was crisp all the way across. This was the best juicy, perfectly seasoned burger with lettuce, pickle, tomato ... I have found my burger heaven. Thank you, Branded Burge Co. You are in the Hall of Fame for Most moist delicious burger, and I'll be back again soon, can't wait to try the whole menu. 😋 I'm soooo full I could hibernate, but I'm looking for a nap at the moment just sooooo yummy in my tummy yall I'm doing my Charlie Brown...
Read moreI got kicked out of my first restaurant ever 04/27/2013! This one...
To boot, I got belly butted by one of the owners father who put money up for the venture.
The sad part was that there were kids in the restaurant and the father did not have a volume control nor a muzzle to keep the multiple F#@* YOU!s from filling up every square inch of the place.
You may be wondering why I (Billy) got blasted, belly butted, and booted from Branded Burger Co. and told NOT TO EVER come back to their F#@*-ing restaurant again! (their words not mine)
Pretty simple really.
Just let them know discretely that you are trying to help them by letting them know that you witnessed the kitchen staff cross contaminating everything in the kitchen with raw meat, from cold storage to the build station.
Warning!!! If for some reason you want to see for yourself what happens when you try to point out health code violations at Branded Burger Co, DO NOT do it with small kids around unless they are buried up in their iPODs with earphones on, and that you are pretty sure that you do not EVER want to eat there again.
I have been in business for over 16 years now and have worked in the food industry for over 18. I am very aware of food safety and regulations, and as a small business owner I just simply wanted to help them before they got shut down by the city inspector. After all it's a new business and I was giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Only after my attempt to help was brutally attacked and rejected by Kelley and the father did I feel the need to use social media to warn the public.
Statistically 9 out 10 businesses fail in their first year. Of those that survive the first year, 90% fail the second year. That means you have a 1 in 100 shot at starting a new business and surviving past the first two years. Those are bad odds, so the question is... Why would you as an owner operator of a new small business want to improve your odds of failure beyond those that are already dealt by statistics.
There once was a time when the customer was always right. I guess those times are gone, at least at Branded Burger Co. In a perfect world, the out come would have been far less hostile. In fact it would not have been hostile at all.
A restaurant that really cares about, and for, their customers, cares completely about their well being and does whatever is necessary to keep them safe. A restaurant that DOES NOT care, rejects and excommunicates those who are trying to convey items of potential health risks that could have dire effects.
As for the burgers... You be the judge.
On a side note: I would like to commend Michael. He at least acted like he was listening and may have actually done something about it. I am under the impression that he is a co-owner. Word of advice, Michael, get rid of the co- part and do one on your own because you will never be successful with partners who don't care. If what I, along with my daughter and the entire restaurant, witnessed today was any indication of what goes on, on a normal day at Branded Burger Co you wont have...
Read moreRecently ordered online from this particular company about 3 weeks ago. I wasn't familiar with this place and it was extremely new to me. I ordered through doordash which was easy as usual but most of there menu options were shortened so I wasn't able to see the full menu. To make a long story short, basically I ordered a Bean Burger and Orea Shake with extra Oreos thinking all the fixing would come as if I was ordering a regular burger and shake. Mind you I still notice there is nothing telling me what comes on my burger nor shake so I was a bit confused. So I simply just wrote out 3 toppings I wanted to just add to the burger if they didn't come already and I did so just in case those items didn't appear as is. Just 3 Items, ( Onions, Mustard no Mayo and Pickels), and for the shake I added on the side (extra oreos please). When My food arrived, I was ohh so hungry and I couldn't wait to dig in. When opening my burger I notice that the only thing on my burger was what I added to the order and nothing else.... Mustard, Picked and Onions...Now to me, this didn't seem right. My Milkshake looked more like a Chocolate shake than a oreo shake with extra oreos. I waited about 40 mins for my order and paid over 20 bucks for this meal, plus tipping my driver. I proceeded to call the company to see if I could ask why my burger didn't come with normal fixing like lettuce, tomatoes and cheese like the pictures online seeming my order wasn't cheap either, and why is this shake missing oreos and whipp cream on top. The person who actually cooked my order answered the phone. She then tried to tell me that that's all I wanted on the burger so that's what I got, still not answering my question. Then I asked about the options on whether or not there was any and the employee continued to go back and forth about the order. I told her I really wanted my money back for this onion, Mustard, and Pickel sandwich and watered down shake and she hung up in my face. I then had to call back to speak to the Manger which I didn't want to do but I had no choice. The Manger tried to resolve the matter but unfortunately was no help. If it was create your own burger then why did you just say that in the beginning, instead of going back and forth with new customers. Obviously I haven't ordered here before and I was hungry and hurt...
