The 1886 Grill Smokehouse at Homestead Golf Course is a spot that definitely knows how to deliver on flavor. My recent visit with a party of eight turned out to be a hit with everyone, and it’s safe to say we’ll all be back for more.

I ordered the burnt end sandwich, which I was looking forward to, but it turned out to be brisket rather than the traditional burnt ends. Despite this little surprise, I wasn’t disappointed—quite the opposite, actually. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and had just the right amount of smokiness. It might not have been what I expected, but it was really good and definitely satisfied my barbecue cravings.

What really made the experience stand out was the consistency across the board. Every single person in our group of eight loved their orders, which ranged from ribs to pulled pork and beyond. It’s rare to find a place where everyone’s plate is a winner, but 1886 Grill Smokehouse pulled it off.

Overall was not a bad experience at all, but did lack in a couple departments, specifically I would say our customer service and the pricing.

We got there and waited a few minutes before the bartender told us we could find a seat, because the waitress hadn't helped us yet. Then the waitress brought menus but didn't take drink orders or come back for food orders for some time. Luckily the bartender was on his game and did all that for us (mind you there were only 3 tables with people).

After we ordered our food, our waitress was much better, and we got our food in under 10 minutes. We got the tritip with corn, and turkey club. The tritip was kind of dry and not a ton of flavor, but it was rather cheap so we can't complain too much. The turkey club and fries were really good, though I'd say they were a little overpriced at 18 dollars. As somebody who gets clubs a lot, I think I would have been happier paying around 12~14.

The atmosphere with the mountains, pool, and how quiet it was, was definitely a highlight. Given the convenience of being on resort property, I would recommend it, though I probably wouldn't go out of my way to find it.
