If you’re anywhere near Mifflinburg, Gable House Bakery is a must visit.

Not only are their baked goods the best around (truly nothing I’ve ever tried there has disappointed), but the heart behind this place is just as special. Nikki, the owner, is one of the kindest, most passionate, and community-driven people I’ve ever met. Her love for this town and commitment to supporting other small businesses is unwavering, and it shows in everything she does. Gable House isn’t just a bakery, it’s an essential part of the Mifflinburg experience.

As for the food? It’s on another level. The tiramisu is my all time favorite dessert and is hands down the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. The sticky buns, dare I say, are better than any others (yes, even the big-name ones you’re probably thinking of). The cream puffs are deceptively simple, but the filling is so good I’d honestly eat a whole gallon of it with a spoon. And the macarons are always rotating in fun flavors and are such a fun treat every time. Honestly, I’ve never had something there that I didn’t love.

We recently hosted our son’s first birthday at Helix Hall (Nikki is also co-owner of this beautiful venue), and Gable House created a fully dairy-free smash cake and then a dessert bar for us that was beyond perfect. Everything was stunning and delicious and most importantly, our little guy was able to enjoy every bite.

I’m also loving their new porch set-up! The extended hours and ease of ordering have made it even more accessible, and I think they’ve handled the transition so thoughtfully. Nikki is always dreaming up big, positive ideas not just for her business, but for the entire community, and I admire that so much.

We had Gable House cater our wedding of 85 people- having the dessert bar and wedding cake- and cannot express how PERFECT & DELICIOUS it all was!! They are very prompt replying to emails, answering all the questions I had and setting up a tasting. I had a Pinterest floral piece to go around my dessert stand and they assured me the cake and desserts would work and it looked stunning on the day of! They delivered and set up the cake/desserts during our reception so I didn't have to stress about a thing! Our guests could not stop raving about all the dessert options we had. There was plenty of flavors to choose from, the chocolate mousse dessert shooters, pb/chocolate and strawberry swirl cheesecake bites being the most popular! We also had 3 flavors of macarons and 3 flavors of cake pops decorated to match our color theme instead of guests eating cake. We had a small red velvet and cream cheese icing smaller cake for us to cut/eat for pictures and take home. They will also make us a 1 year anniversary cake next year so we literally left no crumbs of ours or have to worry about it getting freezer burnt by next year so it's greatly appreciated! I had the opportunity to make a purchase from Gable House's stand at the Lewisburg Farmers Market on 9/3/2025. While there it came to my attention that they had Bourbon Peach sticky buns. After a breif conversation I left the stand with one regular sticky bun with icing and one Bourbon Peach sticky bun.

When I was able to take time to enjoy the Bourbon Peach Sticky Bun, I was very impressed! The flavor combination was wonderfully complex and the sticky bun was so very fresh! The Iced version is delightful but a bit heavier on the palate. The seasoning was rich and the Bourbon Peaches were both bright and a lighter sweetness level when compared to the Iced version. Both are wonderful.

It is so good to find a new hidden gem like the Bourbon Peach Sticky Buns at our local bakery! They also are offering a really unique experience with their self service porch at their Mifflinburg location that has really extended hours. I have in the past picked up lovely Macrons and Black Forest style cakes!
