Did not have a good experience. I was with my son and wife as I'd won a gift certificate. We were greeted when we first arrived and placed our drink order. Drinks arrived and we placed our food order. The one thing my wife was looking forward to they were out of- Okay, no bid deal. She ordered the Kielbasa with no mustard and the menu gave the option for fries or salad. She chose the salad with ranch. I ordered the Kielbasa as it came but with fries. My son ordered the 3 fried chicken sliders (was listed on the menu as Fried Chicken Sliders (3). We also ordered the pretzel bite appetizer. We waited about 20 minutes for the food. A different waitress brought out my wife's meal but did not say anything just set it down as she was walking by. First thing we noticed was it had mustard. I figured they mixed up hers with mine so we waited for the rest of the food to be right out. It took them about 10 more minutes to bring out the rest of our meal, but never received the appetizer. By the time the rest of the food had arrived the sausage my wife had received was dead cold. I gave her the one that came with mine since it was the one with out mustard and asked to have my sausage remade. About another 15 minutes go by before I get my food. At this point I was extremely hungry, but the food unfortunately lacked any flavor. The braised cabbage had no taste. My son's 3 sliders ended up being one sandwich with 3 chicken tenders. When we brought up our frustration we were told it was a new kitchen and they're still trying to figure it out. Here is where it gets good. They did comp one of my beers and credited $7 of a $14 sausage, but then up charged for the salad when the menu said it was included. When we brought this up to the waitress all she said was, "No that's correct, see we credited you $7 for the sausage. I then showed her the upcharge and she then said oh, it didn't really charge, but the math said otherwise so she grabbed the manager. The manager then tried to tell us the menu was wrong and the salad is extra and the menu's were new but printed wrong, but she'll "go ahead and remove it" like I was in the wrong. It wasn't about the $3. It was the fact that there was real lack of caring. I've worked in restaurants both front and back of house. Servers should know the menu and disclose anything that is listed incorrectly before ordering. In the end they did comp most of the meal and I still tipped 25% on what the original total would have been, but this was a bad experience start to finish. Beer was...
Read moreWe were quite disappointed with our visit to River’s Edge. We love trying new breweries and don’t see our expectations high. Well, I’m glad we didn’t for this experience. We felt unwelcome and had a poor experience with the employees. We stopped by after a hike and the moment we walked in, we got a lot of weird looks from other patrons. We weren’t sure where to sit because the bar was full and a bunch of tables were reserved for a euchre tournament so we stood at at the entrance trying to determine where to go. An employee walked right past us and said nothing. We ended up finding a seat at the other side of the brewery and weren’t sure if we should order at the bar or from our table even though multiple employees walked passed our table and said nothing. Finally an employee came and brought drink menus to us after I had spent some time looking at their beers on the wall located on the other side of the brewery. She was not pleasant. My husband asked if a beer which was listed as “on deck” in the menu was available and she looked at him like he was an idiot and should have known they were serving it. It was so odd. We got our beers and before we could ask for our bill, she was off again. We were able to flag her down to ask for our bill and her whole demeanor was that she didn’t want to be there or didn’t want to help patrons. We could not get out of there quick enough. Although I enjoyed the beer I got, we would not return to this brewery. It was a poor experience and didn’t...
Read moreWent to dinner at 5:00pm today (Friday) at Rivers Edge to enjoy a craft beer and dinner with my daughter and grand children. The clientele was a mix of young adults, some with children and a few seniors. To our surprise they had a large TV in the main dining area with a program explicitly showing gay men humping each other in bed without clothes. When I asked the manager why would they have this type of programming on at this time, she had no clue (so she says) what it was. I see at least two glaring issues, 1.) the manager doesn’t have a clue what is being broadcast in their establishment which I find hard to believe and 2.) regardless of being a gay show or a heterosexual show, there is no place for this content in a family setting, at dinner time. When I suggested that I would have a difficult time patronizing an establishment promoting this content, she just shrugged her shoulders and said ok with an attitude she didn’t care. Beer fine, food just ok, atmosphere, if you get into two men kissing and humping during dinner, it’s the place for you!...
