After working in Milford for a couple of years, I'd say I've been to most restaurants in/near the city, and Smoke Street BBQ is one of my favorites.
Though Milford isn't a large town, it still offers a restaurant for every palate, so finding a restaurant that makes you keep wanting to come back is a pretty big deal! Even bigger than that is finding a restaurant that your coworkers also want to keep coming back to! Smoke Street has options for almost everyone, and it's easy to accommodate people with various diets at the restaurant.
The menu is pretty diverse, but the food itself is solid all around. I'd say it's one of the best BBQ places I've been to in Michigan, and I haven't had anyone give a bad review of the taste, even with the picky eaters I know! Having been to the restaurant 5-10 times, if you're a first timer, I'd definitely recommend the Boss Hog Combo. It's a ton of food, but you can easily get two meals out of it! Smoke Street also has a selection of 6 unique sauces to sample. Everyone has their own favorites, but I'd say there's merit to all of them for different things.
The downside of the restaurant being one of the more popular ones in Milford is that it's never really empty, and will get super packed at peak times (Friday lunch especially). As a result, if you get stuck in the restaurant around these times, your 1 hour lunch can easily become a 2 hour lunch. If you can accommodate for this or stop by at non-peak times, you're sure to have a great meal! Be sure to take advantage of the parking lot out back behind the restaurant. There's an entrance in the back, and you'll avoid having to pay as you would for the street parking out front.
Overall, Smoke Street is a great option if you're looking for a good overall restaurant in Milford!
** Keto / Low Carb Folks: just as I recommended for the general crowd, go for the Boss Hog Combo! I've eaten at the restaurant pre-keto and while keto and always had great success with it. The main difference during-keto is that I get 2 orders of Collard Greens for my sides with the Boss Hog Combo. Be careful with the sauces, but you'll probably be able to quickly tell which ones are keto friendly and which are not. The servers will also be able to tell you which ones are sweet and which are not, if you don't feel like...
Read moreFinally got around to headding back to my families old home town of Mitford and I have been hearing about this place called smoke street for years now and finally got to stop in and try this BBQ joint and I am very picky about my BBQ for sure!! Been all around the USA and ate some of the best! So when we arrive loved the building had such a great atmosphere to it and the smell of the BBQ alone curved my lunch craving so good! But got the cheesebread app which on the table had all the sauces which then tried them all and loved them all! Our server (who was excellent, very knowledgeable, and had a great personality may I add) informed me the chef went down south to various places to see how sauces are done and put his own critique to them which I absolutely loved and made them that much better! Got the boss hog (which was amazingly priced for the portion my goodness I have food for the next 2 days) was out of this world! I choose the lean of course ( another thing I enjoyed to choose from my cuts!!) And brisket and pulled pork was amazing juicy I almost didn't even need the sauce it was that good! But lovey sauces, slapped some of that on those bad boys and it was a wrap!! Oh and the smoked sausage was perfection! Perfection! In all and all what an amazing place to eat and will be back for all of it! The service, the food, the atmostphere... just perfect! Definelty one of my new top...
Read moreWe were excited to go back to Smoke Street since we last visited a year ago. So we decided to go tonight and celebrate our anniversary. We both agreed that the meal was better last year. It wasn't a bad meal at all just not as good as we'd remembered. We started with the smoked wings and those were amazing. I mean really good! Them my husband and I shared the Hog's something or another, forgot the name but it has pulled pork which was delicious, a smoked sausage, again delicious and brisket which is usually my favorite and it was dry. ☹️ We got an add on of 1/4 ribs but it was literally 2.5 ribs. Good but not worth the extra $5. For sides, we had the Mac and Cheese and the sweet potato mash. Oh my gosh, those were my favorite! Corn bread was good too. Like I said everything was good, just not as good as last time. The brisket and ribs really bummed me out. Let's talk service... Phenomenal. Unfortunately, I did not catch our servers name and that's a shame because she was really good. We never wanted for anything. She checked on us the perfect amount of times and always with a smile. Overall experience was really good, just can give great or 5 stars due to dry brisket and 2.5 ribs. Im going to add a few pics. Unfortunately I took some for my self off the main plate but you'll get...
