An absolute gem, an all around winner for anyone craving bold flavors, killer drinks, and a one of a kind atmosphere.
Let’s start with the margaritas: these aren’t your average sugary mix in a glass concoctions. Amigos uses pure Jamaican lime juice, no artificial mixers, which gives every sip a clean citrusy kick that’s perfectly balanced. Easily some of the best margaritas I’ve had anywhere.
Their menu is loaded with flavor and incredibly accommodating for gluten free diners. Whether you have celiac or just prefer to avoid gluten, you’ll find a wide range of thoughtfully crafted options clearly marked on the menu—not just basic salads. From tacos on corn tortillas to enchiladas and even certain burritos made with gluten free friendly ingredients, you won’t feel limited. The kitchen is knowledgeable and careful, making it one of the rare spots where you can relax and enjoy your meal with confidence.
The enchiladas are a standout—authentic, rich, and gluten free when ordered with corn tortillas. But the real showstopper is the steak bomb burrito, which can be prepared gluten free upon request. Packed with tender steak and bold seasoning, it’s a total flavor explosion and comes with your choice of sides, many of which are gluten free as well.
And yes, the chips and salsa are bottomless—crispy, fresh, and gluten free—served with a salsa that’s just the right mix of heat and tang.
The atmosphere? It’s like stepping into a tiki lounge crossed with a Jimmy Buffett tailgate party—fun, colorful, and packed with good vibes. Whether you’re going for a casual night out or celebrating with friends, the energy here is upbeat and welcoming.
Amigos Cantina isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. With an inclusive menu, amazing drinks, and a party ready vibe, it's the kind of place that keeps you coming back. Gluten free or not, this spot is...
Read moreI'm a big fan of take out from Amigo's, but sit down dining is hit or miss. The food is usually pretty good, but the service can be on point, or unbelievably slow. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was an unbelievably slow experience.
Update, parking lot disaster, I reached out to the restaurant with the message below, they did not respond: "I'm very disappointed with the way you handle the parking lot. I'm not one to believe myself above the rules and as clearly as I could tell I was parking in a space that belonged to the building in which Union Coffee is housed. The lot directly behind Union has clearly marked spaces that are for employees, spots that would block traffic or dumpsters are marked "no parking", and a few unmarked spaces which I've always understood to be fair game for customers of Union Coffee. On this cold and rainy day I took my 7yo daughter to read some books at the coffee shop. We parked in one such unmarked space, having looked carefully at all signage to confirm that this space was allowed. Unfortunately when we came out we were blocked in by the red Dodge SUV with the UBET plates. I waited ten full minutes thinking that the person MUST have run into a local business and would be out right away. After ten minutes I went into Union to ask, and they knew exactly who's car this was, apparently this is your/their typical way of handling the situation. There was no note to see who was blocking me in, it wasn't clear that this space belonged to the next building over; passive aggressive much? 1. post clear signs 2. if you must block in a confused mother and child leave a note. I've been a regular at Amigos, and this was a real upsetting way to be treated...
Read moreWe were seated at the 2-top against the heater grill on the half-wall that separates the restaurant area from the bar. On the other side of the half wall was the server's station, so we were afforded a point-blank view of a dirty cleaning rag and a container of cleaning "stuff" for our entire meal, spiced with periodic chat between the servers that we didn't really want to hear. Behind the heater grill was a decade's worth of dust staring us down. We noticed it all right away but withheld judgement ... after all, we came for ...
the food ... the chips and salsa that came to the table were excellent. The food we ordered was not. The shredded beef that was in my tacos tasted industrial, not seasoned, and clearly had spent too long in a container of some sort prior to being dropped into my flour tortillas. My wife's attempt to order tamales was met with a confession that making them was just "too hard" and they were out of them, and in any case, there were plans to remove them from the menu. She settled for a distant second choice that contained the same tired old shredded beef as my tacos. While the refried beans were passable, the rice also had the classic flavor of institutionalized food. My wife's margarita was pretty bad. The service was cheerful...
