I have been wordlessly giving 5-star Google reviews to every establishment that I enjoy for a decade. I have not once been antagonized enough to sit down and spend time writing a scathing review. I am not someone who usually complains.
Joey's deserves this.
If this post is too long to read, briefly put; buy your pizza from John's of Arthur Avenue, down the street from Joey's. John's deserves your business. It demands a premium but is all around better food than Joey's, and I've never been treated as disrespectfully as you are about to read.
Their food is described as "economy" at best.
I will never buy from Joey's again.
I've been ordering from Joey's at least once a week for 4 years since moving to Milford, PA, as my family loves pizza (and who doesn't like to start their weekend off with it?)
The night this incident occurred on, I ordered for delivery via Slice as usual; each time I order on Slice, I get an immediate text reporting that my pizza will be later than advertised on Slice, as they are busy. Fine, this happens every time.
The pizza arrived almost an hour and a half later, beyond Slice's projected time. Fine, whatever, the pizza although late isn't usually this late.
It arrived cold. No one orders food for it to arrive cold. I contacted Slice about 5 minutes after delivery that the pizza was cold, and they told me to please wait for a callback. Slice didn't callback for over half an hour, so I called them again and requested an update. A few minutes later, they returned with the message that Joey's would be doing nothing at all to rectify this situation.
I called Joey's directly and asked to speak with someone who could help with a complaint. The man on the phone was rude, would not stop talking to listen to a word I said, and told me he could not help me. That I had to come to Joey's with the FULL order in order to get it remade.
It was very late into the evening at this point, and my family had been waiting almost an hour and a half to eat. I warmed up two slices of pizza for my boys to have something to eat before I called to complain. I told the man on the phone this, and I was told abruptly that I would not receive any refund or discount because of the two missing slices. "We were busy tonight."
This is what Joey's thinks is good business? A cold delivery made an hour and a half after my phone call, that I would have to bring to them late in the evening for them to remake it, no offer of a discount or refund?
Despite dozens and dozens of orders made by my household without a single complaint from us for 4 years (pizza has arrived late, and it has arrived lukewarm, but never this late and cold), I was essentially told to shove off.
I sincerely hope anyone who reads this just takes their business to John of Arthur Ave. Joey's is too busy to deliver warm pizza on time, we should all give them a break and some breathing room so they can keep up with their business and delivery their services as promised.
