Horrible! We went there after a few years definitely not the same. I ordered a cheese burger with tomatoes and onions....how complicated is that? It comes out with tomatoes not ripe at all 2 small pieces the size of a 50 cent coin and the same with the onion. The chef comes out a woman does not introduce herself to see how everything was. I told her and showed her the tomatoes and she proceeds to say...." yes I bought the wrong tomatoes??" Is she for real? Not im sorry ...I told her you should not serve something like this to customers. She asked if she can substitute something else...nit sure what else on a bacon cheese burger...but to entertain I said ok she offered roasted peppers. I said ok....she comes out with this small container like a side order of Ketchup or mayo and the peppers are diced?? Bill comes no discount nothing. Totally not impressed I'm sorry I did not take pictures. And we should of walked out after that presentation. Not sure what they ate doing but to serve thing like this and then make a comment...."yes I bought the wrong tomatoes " someone needs to show her what a burger with tomatoes and onions looks like!! If she is the chef she needs to be replaced sooner than later, if the owner and I doubt they should be shut down!! Lord knows what other crap they are feeding customers...."just because that's what they bought and uts the wrong thing"!! Why even make a comment so STUPID! WE WILL NEVER RETURN and make sure our experience is heard. Keep in mind nothing like word of mouth to make or break a business..just saying!! Health department would have a feast with this PLACE! And the best, no discount...
Read moreNice, large, local resturant with a nice big, varied menu. Good parking out front, and very good friendly service. We stopped for the most delicious hamburgers. Even the rolls were fresh brioche rolls. I substituted the railroad fries for nice big onion rings. My friend had a salad instead of the fries. There is quite an extensive lunch and dinner menu here. You can find everything from great appetizers to comfort food to nice dinner entres'. There is literally something for every pallet. Try their wings, too. There's a bar if you want to hang out for a cocktail or beer. They have a pretty good selection of draught beers. Don't miss happy hour as the well drinks are $4 and the domestic beers are $3, and craft beers are $4 for a pint! Prices are excellent and won't break the bank for a good meal. Travelers on Route 84 just get off at the 48 exit for Milford. Come straight down the hill and Apple Valley is at the bottom on the right. EZ OFF/ EZ ON. Also, there's a bunch of little shops and a sports outfitter in the same complex. You can wander around and have some fun. Or, visit Grey Towers National Park, which is the Gifford Pinchot mansion and grounds. He was the father of the conservation and parks movement in the USA. It's quite a place to see. They offer tours, too. Try this restaurant, folks. You'll never have a...
Read moreI dined at Apple Valley for many years since moving to the area in the late 1980s and, under it's long-standing family ownership, always enjoyed the fare it provided, the friendly well-trained staff, the extensive menu (including an array of dinner entrees), and the affordable prices. Sadly, none of that was to be found tonight, my first time back since it became another outlet owned and operated by Milford Hospitality/ Rosado group.
I ordered the brisket dinner, which came with salad, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw (add a soda and it came to just under $30). I should have known it would be mediocre when the menu featured a reminder that brisket is fatty.
The meal came out in less than 10 minutes, at which time the waitperson said she could bring my salad out when I finished the meal or make it to go... when I declined, a better place would have offered dessert instead since they missed delivering my salad. Nope. Then I realized I had no silverware except the unnecessary steak knife that came with the plate. Staff told me just to grab something from another table. Great service, huh!
The meal was less than mediocre... think Denny's on an off night. Blah!
What a shame that this once beloved, formerly locally owned, Milford institution has fallen. There are better options to be found. I...
