Easily the best part of our trip to Milford. The owner, John, is absolutely charming- lots of his artworks and other creations are for sale. Really good drawings with a 60s fantasy illustration aesthetic- detailed, trippy crosshatched linework in a similar vein to R. Crumb, full of wizards and warriors and adventurers. Lots of fun, out-of-this-world art in various media by members of his family too. Also lots of art with a biker vibe- apparently the store hosts a bike rally each year!
We stopped in on our way out of town and wound up talking with John for nearly an hour about his life and art and writing while he showed us around. I wish we could have stayed even longer.
