Generally poor experience which is strange because we really liked their other location.
When we walked in there was no one to seat us, instead the staff stood about 10 feet away talking amongst themselves. We waved when we made eye contact but they did not a knowledge us and instead just kept talking.
Once we were seated the hostess told us our server would be out "later."
Once our server came out he was polite and helpful even making recommendations. My wife ordered one of her favorites from another location and I ordered what the waiter recommended.
When the food came out mine was fine if bland and slightly more acrid than an enchilada should be. My wife's plate looked nothing like the other place and instead of her light cream sauce and a healthy dose of shredded cheese as described in the menu there was no shredded cheese and instead there was a huge amount of white cheese sauce.
My wife can't eat large amounts of cream based sauces so we called the waiter over. His attitude changed immediately he was obviously upset, took the plate contemptuously and mumbled something rude about us in Spanish about us under his breath (surprise for him, we speak spanish).
He than went a couple of steps away to a co-worker and in Spanish again (beautiful language Spanish which is why my wife and I both spent years studying it) insulted us loudly saying to his friend that our complaints were "sh !t." His freind replied with a vulgar support for his position.
Thankfully they comped the bad plate without us asking, which was nice.
Later, when we were leaving the server tried very hard to be civil but it was a thin show and having heard what they said earlier we were not buying it.
Pro's: they took the plate of incorrectly prepared food back and did not charge us for it without us asking.
Con's: Food was not as described, the server made it clear he resented us rejecting the plate and mumbled rude things under his breath, staff talked rudely about us and used vulgar language about us within ear shot, no one made an effort to seat us when we walked in. Read moreSadly after 20 years of coming to this restaurant our last 2 take out orders were either wrong or badly cooked. The last time we gave them the benefit of the doubt. This time, 3 dinner orders...the two orders of coconut prawns were not only overcooked, but regular fried shrimp were substituted. Of the supposed 6 coconut prawns in both orders...each only had two large prawns covered in coconut and then five little substituted fried shrimp. When we got home (15 min later) I called about the order. Upon asking the kitchen staff, the head chef told the woman who was helping me "oh that's how they come out of the package sometimes." Clearly a lie , the shrimp were different sizes, with different coatings, they had run out or were cutting corners. Really disappointed in that reaction. My husband made another trip 15 minutes back to the restaurant to return the'coconut' prawn order and get his money back. They did offer to do that when I told them I was still not happy. Read moreI have never eaten at this Azteca, but I deliver for DoorDash, but each an every time they give low priority for those orders. Why they do this is beyond me. A customer is a customer regardless of how they choose to order. Today was the last straw, it took several minutes for any employee to come to the booth, yet at least 3 employees looked my way, but continued doing whatever they were doing. Finally a lady came over and asked how they could help me. I gave them the customers name and they walked away without ever returning. A little while later, a older male employee comes up to me and asks the same thing. I gave the customer name and also told him what the other employee had done and received no apology. This same male employee did the same exact thing of disappearing and not returning. Honestly if you don’t want to fulfill DoorDash orders, then stop partnering with them.
