I understand with COVID19 things are tough. Social distancing will be one of my most hated sayings for a long time. Having had to work in an essential business for the past few months have been tough. With new processes its understandable that things are going to be different. That's a given. However this...has to be said.
Ordered food online, opted to save the $10 of delivery to support the business and added a tip even though we weren't dining in. We have breakfast food at home but we've been waiting for Sawmill to open again. Placed our order, got the order number, and arrived there around 9:30am with it being stated ready around 9:38am.
When I got there had my mask, checked in with an Asian gentleman upfront who asked us to wait in the car but asked for the order pickup name. Gave it, went to my car. This same guy asked me for the same order number 3 different times. Clearly there could be an issue with the ordering system since hey, things are new right now. I get that.
But 3....TIMES! Kept trying to verify the name with a different receipt. Finally another girl came up and checked in and said they got it and left. 30 minutes or more went by. Still watching my movie. I saw the guy next to me, who arrived before me, finally go. But two girls that arrived at least 15 minutes after me got their food and left. No check in. Still patiently sat, waited, and watched. After a while my wife called the business to check since I had been gone for a while. Never mind the phones off.
Long of the short, arrived 9:30, left at 11. What did I get for waiting. $10 gift card that would've been THE DELIVERY CHARGE! We love their food. But after this, we...
Read moreThe Saw Mill is a decent place to go eat. I was alone so I sat at the counter since the wait was 20 minutes to get a table. Fair enough since it is a popular place to eat. Anyone could give a bad review and it would not affect business. Today I went in for lunch but got breakfast since I enjoy pancakes. I had a simple 2 eggs scrambled with bacon and hash brown potatoes. I skipped the toast and grabbed 2 pancakes. Washed all down with decaf coffee. The eggs were okay tasting, the bacon was very thin and crispy and the hash browns were a bit undercooked for my taste. The pancakes were great and should have had the 3 pancakes since I got changed for 3 instead of 2. The food tasted okay, I have been to the Saw Mill before and had better tasting food but it filled the void and was full when I paid and got out. The price is a bit high for what I had but it was okay. When I added a tip it turned out to be almost $31 dollars. A bit too steep for my liking. Don't know if I am coming back any time soon. I will try other places to compare pricing and taste. Hopefully there is something a little less expensive out there. The Saw Mill is a good place to go for food. Try it. Read moreI'm usually too busy to get lunch, so I was excited to actually have time to leave the clinic during my break. However, I was incredibly disappointed that I picked this place. The staff seemed friendly enough, but when I asked if I could get the food to go, they failed to tell me that there would be an extra fee. I ordered the chicken ranch wrap with onion rings and a milkshake. When the order was ready, they wrapped the wrap in wax paper and put it all in a paper bag. I would maybe see a reason for the extra fee if they used fancy containers or something, but no. Even their straws are terrible and split apart after the first sip. I got back to my office and started eating the wrap, but something seemed off, so I opened it up. It says on their menu that the chicken ranch wrap comes with chicken, bacon, cheese, tomatoes, and the ranch sauce. I don't even know what they gave me, but all they had in the wrap was chicken, a bunch of lettuce, and sauce. It really tasted off so I didn't eat the rest and even the onion rings were bland and not appetizing. So I wasted my break just to...
