Sunday 02/25/18. Four of us dinned in for the first time at Tablas Woodstone Taverna in Mill Creek, WA. We ordered many items on the menu and shared them all family style. First off I would like to say the restaurant was very clean, organized and inviting the moment we walked in. The ambience is very unique and fun. I would love to host a holiday, family or dinner party here in the future. The staff was very polite and there was no wait to be seated. The waiter that we had was very helpful and gave us good advice as to what to order since it was our first time there. All of us wanted to try a little of everything on the menu so we order a lot. Here is a list of what we ordered and EVERYTHING I MEAN EVERYTHING was top notch with lots of flavor. *Dungeness Crab & Artichoke Dip was by far the best crab & artichoke dip I have ever had! It came with homemade thin crackers. *Dungeness Crab Stuffed Shrimp. It came with 3 jumbo shrimp w/ crab & artichoke heart. This was mouth watering!! Seared Ahi Tuna W/ Arugula Smoked paprika crust, caper piccata. This is not your typical seared ahi tuna. It had a great smoked flavor, very thinly sliced with a caper piccata topping. Pork MignonTenderloin wrapped in bacon w/ valdeon cheese sauce. (2) Came on the plate so we split them in half so all of us could try it. I liked the Pork Mignon and it had great flavor but was not my favorite dish out of everything we ordered. *We ordered a flat bread to try it out. We got the Tomato, Basil, Pesto and Mozzarella one and it was delicious, I will be trying another flat bread the next time I eat here. *We ordered the Tablas even though it was before 4pm. Since we ordered so many other side dishes we ordered the GARDEN Tablas for 2 and there was still plenty for all of us to try every item that came with it. All of the items came nicely assorted on a wood panel. Here are the items that came with the Garden Tablas for 2. GARDEN: Falafel & Tzatziki, Baked Feta, Tortilla De Patata, Baked Giant Beans, House Salad, Manchego w, Membrillo, Harissa Hummus, Dolmathes & Vegetables. NOTE: If you have 4 people and you want to get the Tablas I recommend ordering two different ones for 2 and sharing among the 4 of you. The Tablas comes with a lot of food and if you get two instead of just 1 for 4 people you get a larger variety to share. MINI DESERTS: Yes we ordered 3 deserts to share between the 4 of us even though we were stuffed but everything was so great we just had to try something. We ordered the Crème Brulee, Kahlua Mousse & Pomegranate cheesecake. OMG Delicious!! My favorite was the pomegranate cheesecake!! It’s not like any cheesecake you have ever tried. Hands down my favorite desert, I just wish it came in a larger dish!! DRINKS: I ordered the white sangria and it was very refreshing! We also got a glass of red wine called diablo and I 100% recommend getting it!! It paired great with...
Read moreWe had a fairly mixed experience at Tablas. Service: Our service at the beginning was excellent, but it slowly disappeared and we had a hard time flagging a server, even though most of the tables had emptied out. One of our food items was forgotten and we waited quite a while for it to come while everyone else had their food. We ordered dessert and about ten minutes later were told they gave our dessert to someone else and that they were out of that dessert. That's a major oops, especially since one of our plates had already been forgotten. We weren't offered many apologies or a discount for this happening. We also didn't have a consistent server helping us. Food: I understand that tapas are small, but portions were super tiny, especially since they are advertised as "shareable." For the price point on some items we were very disappointed. Our two "petite" eaters who NEVER finish restaurant meals finished theirs. The avocado & seafood salad was enjoyed. The pear, blue cheese, arugula & pecan flatbread was very good. The blue cheese was not too strong and the dough was delicious. The signature spreads definitely need to be ordered with an extra pita. The tzatziki was very creamy and we couldn't taste the cucumber or garlic. The olives & figs tapenade was the crowd favorite. I spent $17 on two king salmon tacos that weren't seasoned and came with a very small portion of fries. The sweet potato fries with the serrano aioli dip are to die for! I don't know if I will be buying another plate here, but I will probably come back for flatbread, sweet potato fries, and dessert. Dessert options are shown to you on a tray. There were four or five when we were there. We really enjoyed the crème brûlée cheesecake. It had a delicious flavor and wasn't as heavy as your typical baked cheesecake- it was more of a crème brûlée interior. The flourless chocolate cake was very dark and needed more fruit served with it to brighten it up. Update: Went back 12/2021. Service was absent even though maybe half the tables were full. Got food poisoning from my meal. 🤢 IF I come back it will ONLY be for those sweet...
Read moreIf I could give this establishment negative stars - I would. My boyfriend and I walked into Tablas on a busy Friday night and we were greeted in about two minutes by a nice waitress who jotted our names down on the list and told us it would be about 15 minutes. At that point we had a party of 4 (two friends would be joining us). Come to find out they ended up cancelling and I planned on updating the waitress/hostess accordingly. A big party got up and left and what appeared to be the Manager (short, slicked back hair, and a goatee) showed us to the large table. I then noted that the other half of our party would not be joining us and we didn't want to take the large table so that someone else could utilize it. The manager thanked us. After we had been waiting at LEAST 30 minutes another couple walked through the front door and clearly knew the manager as there as an embrace and much banter before they sat down to "wait". Mind you we had been already waiting for 30 minutes AND gave up a table out of kindness and consideration for their establishment. The manager kept catering to the other couple telling them their table was ALMOST ready, giving them many thumbs up, and prompt attention. He THEN proceed to immediately clear a table and seat his friends. After an hour, I finally let him know that his customer service was absolutely horrifying, unacceptable, and flat out RUDE. He then proceeded to tell me that those people were "on the list" which clearly was not true and didn't try anything to save customers that were very ready to spend money in a restaurant that he manages. The manager was rude, provided horrible customer service, treated us very poorly, and is a liar. AND THIS IS ALL IN THE LOBBY! NEVER EVEN GOT TO TRY THE FOOD! If the owner of this business gets a chance to read this I would HIGHLY suggest reconsidering your options for a manager. After reading other very similar reviews this seems to be a reoccurring issue of guests being treated poorly and like they are invisible. Really hope the food is great to make up for lack of...
