This is a hard one to review but I feel it’s necessary.
I came across Frost a few months ago while I was out door dashing and picked up an order from there.
Upon arriving, I was in complete shock when I walked through the door. The space is immaculate. Very clean and orderly. I was also impressed with the size of the place and wasn’t expecting such a large dining room with a TON of seating. The large and very well lit display case had been beautifully put together with a large selection of all their macaroons and donuts. It is also elevated to a nice height so take me personally everything was at almost eye level as I’m only 5ft tall.
A little backstory….. I just recently moved back to Washington in February. I lived here 7 years ago and I was always a big fan of Top Pot Donuts. I just love a good chocolate yeast donut and a regular glazed.
Since moving back to WA I had been looking for a good donut bakery and I hadn’t found one that really impressed me. So walking into Frost I thought I had hit the jackpot. Since I was picking up a DD order I was in a hurry to deliver and chose not to order anything for myself.
Over the last couple months I have picked up a handful of orders from there and still had yet to try it.
This past Saturday I was craving a donut. So I decided to order a dozen donuts thru door dash.
Donuts arrived and the box was very heavy which made me happy because I prefer a dense and moist donut. When I opened the box I was disappointed to see my donuts all jumbled together. I accredited that to the dasher most likely as I’ve seen first hand the care they take while displaying things.
I ordered 4 chocolate bars, 4 glazed, 2 strawberry Bismarck I believe they were called, and 2 peanut butter bismarcks.
I tried a chocolate bar first. It was a big donut. The chocolate frosting(?) was good. The cake it’s self was very dry and kinda tasted like day old donut. I was so sad because with as beautiful as their shop is I really had high expectations towards their product quality. The glazed was dry as well and I was also disappointed in the amount of glaze on the glazed donut. It was just very unappetizing. I did not try the other 2 flavor of donuts I purchased however the ones that did said
“way too much jelly in the strawberry one but over all very good”
“Peanut butter creame is OK. Probably wouldn’t order it again though”
I encourage you to try this place at least once and form your own opinion. I will definitely be giving them a second chance. The donut was not a bad donut. It just wasn’t the best either. But maybe it was just an off day for them, maybe my dasher shook up my box of donuts….the world may never know.
I’m really hoping my next experience is much better. But all in all...
Read moreMy wife and I have ordered from Frost a lot! The donuts are awesome, both the simple ones and the unique ones; however believe it or not the main reason we started ordering from this place was their breakfast burrito they used to have - which they don't anymore. They had a sausage one and and a bacon one. They ended up replacing it with some breakfast sandwiches, also sausage and bacon options with a couple new options too. These have also been really good - but a bit disappointing they're more expensive than the burritos when it feels like you're getting less food than you did with the burrito. So this has been a big disappointment because when you're lazy and want to use a delivery service to get an easy/simple breakfast burrito, this had been the ONLY place to get one. I mean ONLY.. There aren't even other places that support DoorDash/Uber Eats, etc that offer crappy burritos. This place was literally the only one we could find.
So the crux of this for Frost, is that it seems regardless of the price increase or whether it's the burrito or the sandwich, one thing they're kind of crappy with is their inability to keep enough stuff stocked to make these items. On numerous occasions we'd try to order a burrito or a breakfast sandwich and they'd be out before the weekend was even over and wouldn't get anymore until Tuesday... How many times do you have to run out of something before you realize it's obviously super popular and you need to stock more?? So, while we love their donuts and breakfast foods. I think a companies' inability to correct a reoccurring issue makes them unworthy of 5 or even 4 stars.
P.S. Frost: if/when you read this... Bring back...

Parking: Shared parking Pet friendly: No Family friendly: Yes
FOOD: Butterfinger Donut: 4 Stars – Of the two donut I had, this was unfortunately #2 but still very yummy. Definitely a butterfinger chocolate bar taste! S’more Donut: 5 Stars – OMG this was so amazing. The marshmallow meringue was legit! Super smooth, fluffy, not too sweet, overall goodness! Frost Bagel Breakfast Sandwich: 5 Stars – Some people like breakfast burrito, some people like Continental breakfast, but nope, I will always get a bagel sandwich. And this one is oh so delicious! The amount of eggs and cheese makes this something else. I will say, it does need hot sauce which they had a lot of options of 😊
MENU/RESTAURANT: Super cute place that is a very IG place for photos. The one little random thing about this place is the music. It literally took me a minute to even register what I was hearing since it made me think of a taqueria and what I saw and heard clashed so much LOL
There is a huge selection of donuts and macaron that this is definitely a sweet tooth place. For me the savory breakfast is my go-to moving forward. So by that I feel like there is a little thing for each person which is probably not true but true in my book!
SERVICE: Amazing Customer Service. From the moment I walked in, to ordering, to waiting, it was great...
