La Palmera is a Mill Creek town center staple. It's been here since before the town center itself was built. It's a great go-to sports bar! With TV's on every inch of available wall space, it's the perfect place for after work drinks n grub, or to watch the game w/friends.
The food is standard Mexican fare in the vein of Azteca. The chips are made in house and served warm. The salsa is meh, and the pico de gallo used to be better. It won't blow your mind but it'll fill your tummy. And the kitchen is fast as lightning!
My one complaint is that my meal felt rushed. Rushed to order, food rushed to the tabled, rushed to pay without even being asked if we'd like dessert. And they've got some good ones! Fried ice cream, churros, flan, etc... so that was a shame. I don't like being acutely aware that they're trying to turn over my table as fast as humanly possible. And unfortunately that was my experience last visit.
I was also bummed out to find they'd taken Baja Enchiladas off the menu. The Enchiladas de Camarones were not the same.
It can get a little busy every night of the week, and sometimes there's a wait of about 15 mins. I don't think they accept reservations. But the bar is big, and you can always seat yourself there until a table comes up.
There's free streetside parking available, and overflow parking on either side and in back. I'm certain I'll eat...
Read moreSeriously I can not go into to much detail without fuming and foaming a t the mouth. I've not once had service like this. Bad service would have been a step up. But no service is exactly what I received with. Your family. We're not a small party either. Fairly important occasion we all agreed on Mexican food. We picked apparently a busier night then most although the p k ace is alwa g s packed so didn't bother the w as it good food . Surprised when we were seated less then 10minutes into arriving. P l aced drink order with appetizers immediately. Received the drinks 15minutes later. And never saw are waiter again .well at least at our table. An hour later after we had stopped a couple waiters one on the way to restroom to ask for help and bartender on way back from restroom same .finally the appetizers came well some of the appetizers. That waiter just dropped the final appetizers said be right back to take order and he went to relieve someone apparently. Needless to say our dinner was our appetizers When my brother saw the people seated after us pay t b erected bill and leave there seats we lost our mood for Mexican food. Left went to Baskin Robbins and spoiled the rest of any chance for dinner. Baskin Robbins was yum and good service and kindly listened as my brother couldn't stop talking about dinner or lack of dinner...
Read moreI’ve visited a few times with a friend. Unfortunately, this friend has poor manners and doesn’t treat wait staff right. I let her know I won’t go anywhere with her if she keeps acting out and she’s committed to working on herself. Well, every time I come here with her, we get sick. We both had pain in our stomach last night and every other time we visited. It seems to be a reoccurring thing but only when I’m with her. When I go with my husband, it never happens. There was one instance with my husband where the red sauce he had must’ve been bad because once he ate that, he got sick but otherwise, I was fine that evening. Look, I don’t know if the ingredients are just poor quality to save money or if someone is tampering with food but either way, it shouldn’t be happening. Ask a person not to return, don’t cause them harm. For me, I am kind and I always tip. I have kids at home. One of them eats solids now. What if you tamper with someone’s food and they bring it home to their children? It’s wrong and immoral. Please stop. Obviously, I will never return but for the sake of others, management should discuss...
