This place is excellent. It has some of the best food and service north of Peters Mountain, and a menu that has a good variety. We stopped in a few days ago while riding.
The inside is nicely decorated and kept very clean, and the bar area has several TVs so this would be an excellent location for watching sports.
Our server Ceisha was outstanding. On top of being very friendly, she had a good knowledge of the menu and was able to make suggestions and recommendations on what to order. She was also able to keep up with several of us who like to chug our drinks, glasses never stayed low for long. When I return I plan to ask for her section.
Food was fantastic as well. It came out quickly, and there was clear attention paid to presentation (that is a rare thing in small town bars). My Black and Bleu burger was cooked perfectly, and that fries that came with it excellent. I was also able to try some of the (I believe homemade?) chips and those were excellent as well. I was able to see the other food coming out of the kitchen, and it all looked amazing. This place will get a return visit to try more.
The bar also featured some nice house designed cocktails, I suggest anyone check them out if you want something unique .
It's rare to find this level of quality in small towns, but this place is...
Read moreLiving in a small town usually means you have limited options for dining. We went with friends last evening to another local pub expecting to hear live music and food specials (as advertised on their FB page). Having to take our own chairs because of the amount of people, we walked in and sat down. Noticed there wasn't live music and very quickly realized we weren't going to be served anytime soon. It also meant we would need to eat our dinner on our laps, since there wasn't enough seating or tables for the "event". Clearly, there was no planning. We collectively looked at our friends and said "let's go to Max's". Packed up and left.
We arrived at Max's and were instantly greeted. We asked to sit outside and they accommodated. The server was phenomenal. She had tables inside and outside and frequented our group often. We also had a visit from the hostess a few times and even the bartender came to check on us. The beer selections were great and the food was awesome. Prices are really comparable and fair. We felt welcomed and will...
Read moreLimited and cramped parking in the back sharpens the driving skills of patrons visiting this establishment. The decor is warm and inviting and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The large menu has a bit of everything from Mexican, Asian and Italian inspired dishes to standard burgers and fries. There's a seafood page along with a nice salad selection. I had the Mango Habanero Chicken with Fire Roasted Corn and was surprised that the sauce on the chicken was a lot spicier than I expected. Fortunately, the warmed Double Fudge Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream cooled things off a bit. All in all, though, an excellent meal at a reasonable cost. I did note that the basic sound level seemed louder than usual. Perhaps the stacked stone wall covering reflects sound rather than absorbing it. Also, the honking train that rolled by during the meal made conversation impossible for a minute or two. Will definitely return as there were other items on the extensive menu that seemed...
