âHalal TaxââĄď¸âĄď¸âĄď¸Order total: $50+đą
Joke: not really charging halal tax, but with the prices it seems like they are.đ The quality is truly missing for all this premium.
Dubai Chocolate Cake: $10.99. Nothing fancy, the hype is in the name, hence the price.đ
Argentinian Chicken Empanada x2: $8.99/each. It was decent and could see myself grabbing one again, if in the area.đ
Date Cardamom Specialty Latte.: $6.xx. đ no flavor of date or cardamom. Just bitter latte heavily caffeinated with light milk. Go to Starbucks for a Latte fix.
My friend ordered âYemeni Chaiâ: đ He said we had better Chai earlier today at Shawarma Press for less.
My Daughter ordered Iced Mocha Latte: $6+đ She also said it would have been million times better at Starbucks. Lacked a good balance and flavor
We had high hopes for the place. Quality food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Unfortunately, failed at all to meet minimum expectations. I would recommend to try once to make your own conclusion as everyone does not like, value and consider the same aspects in an experience.đ The hype is around the brand and itâs quality that will sustain this long term. I hope the owner, their management take this feedback to make improvements. I want to see them thrive but it needs to be better - especially being new.đŹ If I ever returned, it would be to grab an empanada.
Atmosphere is decent.đ The place was probably at 30% capacity when we went around 6pm today. That was perfect for us to find a spot to sit and eat.đ
Price: We never shy from paying premium for an experience, quality and service but then the standard of excellence must rise too. Sadly, it didnât meet any area of the experience metric that the $50+ would have made it worth it for us.đ
Originally went there on a Sunday a day after their opening. Lines were too busy so drove away to go back today.
Customer service could have been better. More energy, excitement and asking the right questions. The guy looked puzzled looking at us and took effort to get him to help us understand their offerings. He couldnât explain much at all. We let it go and placed our order. Many people behind the counter moving but nothing was excellent or stood...
Read moreWe visited MOTW Coffee & Pastries around 1 AM on a Saturday night. As expected, given both Ramadan and the weekend, it was quite busyâbut mainly at the ordering counter. The wait to place an order was longer than expected, though the food came out fairly quickly once ordered. To improve the experience, having a second register temporarily during Ramadan could help manage the crowd more efficiently. Despite the wait, the staff was handling the rush well, remaining professional and courteous.
For the food, we tried the Empanada Samosa, which was just average. It wasnât bad, but nothing particularly stood out about it. I might try a different variety next time to see if thereâs a better option. The Pistachio Milk Cake was fineâpistachio seemed to be a popular choice, so I decided to go with it as well. It had a nice texture, but the flavor didnât wow me. We also had the Classic Honeycomb, which was good but not exceptional. The real highlight of the night, though, was the Yemeni Chai. Iâm not sure if it was truly authentic Yemeni chai, but it was incredibly flavorful, rich, and perfectly spiced. I would definitely come back just for the chai.
Aside from the food, the ambience was excellentâa cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a great late-night spot to relax and catch up with friends. The service was good, with staff staying attentive and friendly despite the crowd. The only real downside was the long wait at the counter, but once the order was placed, everything moved smoothly.
Overall, while most of the food was just okay, the atmosphere, service, and especially the chai made the visit worthwhile. Iâd definitely return, mainly for the tea and to possibly try a few other menu items. If they improve the ordering process during peak hours, it would make for an even...
Read moreI heard about this new coffee shop that had the viral Dubai Chocolate and I had to give it a try. I live about 30 minutes away, so made the effort to go there on a Saturday. Staff are very friendly and the service is good. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I ordered a Mocha latte which was good. I also ordered the Dubai chocolate and the Dubai chocolate cake. The Dubai chocolate is about 2 inches (5cm) in diameter and very dense and crispy with the knafeh. The Chocolate cake is quite big at 6 inches (15cm) in diameter and 2 inches (5cm) in hight. The cake has a bottom layer of chocolate sponge cake with a layer of pistachio knafeh and a top layer of chocolate. The chocolate itself is very good, but the knafeh, although nice and crispy, is too dry. It needs to be creamy with the distinctive pistachio cream. And that is where MOTW failed with this treat. The highlight of the Dubai chocolate lies in the pistachio knafeh, which needs the balance of the pistachio creaminess combined with the knafeh crunch. Unfortunately, here you only get the crunch. Itâs a pity. Tastes vary, so feel free to give it a try, but I wonât have it again. I will try a different place for the perfect...
