Shaffer's Drive In — Restaurant in Milton

I usually have amazing visits at shafers. We hadn't been in a few months and decided to go out to catch a bite. Our experience was horrible from start to finish! My husband's burger was hard and cold like it had been cooked in advance. Our shakes were horrible. They didn't have hardly any peanut butter in them. But here's where it gets really bad. We are sitting there waiting for our order and watching our shakes be made. It literally was like a daycare in there of immature high school kids with no supervision. They were throwing chunks of food and paper products at each other. They also took my milkshake and put it up beside the boys head. Eww!! The girls flipped or touched their hair multiple times and then touched food again. The boy came in from delivering an order and used sanitizer but did not watch his hands. My husband saw one of the guys in the kitchen touching their face, mustache, and then just put gloves on without washing his hands! I've met the owner and I know this is not how he wants his business to be ran. I don't think the health dept would like to see the practices in this facility and I hope no one gets sick from all the food safety...

Ordered a grilled chicken salad, a classic American style grilled cheese, an all American beef frank hot dog as well as a plain hot dog for my dog. The salad was delicious not too many carrots or cucumbers just the right amount. The chicken was juicy and the servings were spot on. The grilled cheese was thick lightly buttered enough to crisp the bread and melt what I believed was double sliced cheese single ( don’t quote me on that) and the hot dog was piping hot with fresh onions and light coating of mustard. They even cut up my dogs food as well. I spent around 10$ plus tax and tipped, afterwards I only spent 13$ for a roadside lunch for the doggo and I we couldn’t be happier just wish we knew sooner. Before i go the only thing i might add is I didn’t see any vintage poodle skirts or roller skates but this place screams drive in and offers a wonderful nostalgia...

Shaffer’s has the absolute best food hands down in all of Hurricane to Milton! I stop in a couple times a week sometimes for myself or my kids. The food never disappoints and neither does the service! Everyone is always so hospitable and down to earth, and tonight was no exception—I am a nurse and had worked a really long shift today. I called Shaffer’s just to see if the time google was giving was correct. It was already 5 minutes after close and (I believe JT) offered to still take my order! It made my night!
